Yeah, I know, same here in Finland! In fact, one of the reasons why I love the New Years Day video is coz the scenery is so familiar, the snow scenes could easily be mistaken for being filmed anywhere in Finland!!

Bono and family seem to enjoy summer and winter vacation the same, I think that's great. Switzerland is amazingly beautiful.

I LOVE the countryside in winter when there is a lot of snow, I don't care about the cold. When you're skiing or doing any kind of outdoor sports, you're getting warm anyway.

It can be so much fun and it's a great feeling to come into a warm bar after spending some hours out in the cold to get some tea or hot wine. I remember many great winters from my childhood, I always spent a lot of time in the snow. I'm not much of a summer person. I like it when it's warm, but I can't stand the heat.

I miss my childhood winters, we've hardly had any snow in recent years.

It's funny reading about their skiing experince since I'm Northern-Norwegian and had to learn skiing from the day I could walk. The result is that I can't understand why rich people would pay to stumble around in snow and freezing temprature. I'd rather get sunburned in the South of France.

I know we shouldn't get too much into the family's personal stuff, but since it's all over twitter and open for everyone to read, I just want to point out that Eve seems to have a very close relationship with her family and that she really seems to love being with them and around them. From her tweets it seems she is always looking forward to going home to Dublin and missing her home and her family, which I think is very sweet. Other girls (and boys) that age don't do that, they're happy to be away and free and all, but I think it's a great thing that they seem to have such a strong bond.

Now where's a photo of daddy, come on

I think since Eve's Twitter is of course public you guys can follow it if you want, but maybe keep this thread for U2 related News. (Of course news about any members of U2 separate from the band is fine as always too, but I don't think it should become a thread about Eve's twitter account.

I got the same feeling when I saw Eve's first picture from the Alps. It could easily be right by where I live. Mountains everywhere.

I haven't been here in FOREVER (thanks stupid life!), but when I went to catch up on some news I was thinking, "Why her Twitter posts in U2 news???"

I think everyone who wants to can follow Eve on twitter and some surely do, but we should keep these "news" out of the forum, we really don't need to post every single tweet here. People can go to Eve's twitter site and read them. I'm more than fine with that.

I just wanted to say that I think they are a great family. Of course that isn't exactly news but since Eve decided to tweet this stuff I'm sure the family is ok with that and know that a lot of U2 fans will be following her tweets. If it's on Twitter, it's public for anyone to see. So no, I don't feel uncomfortable about discussing it, it's public knowledge and she's very well aware of it.

Eve is a public person now, she's an actress, and of course a lot of U2/Bono fans will be interested in what she's doing, nothing wrong with that, no one is stalking her or anything. We also have an Ali and Morleigh thread here, so the families are always an issue. However, I agree about keeping these things out of the U2 news thread. Sorry for derailing.

But I'm sure she's used to it.

Now back to U2 news: I totally agree with the Rolling Stone article and I'm pretty sure Bono knows about that.
