Yep. It would be a $10K pay cut from what I make now. And my husband had to take a pay cut last year because of the crappy economy so we'd have to make some pretty major lifestyle changes (like eat ramen and jello every day for the next 3 years and never leave the house except to go to work) to make it work.

Yikes. Is there any way to make it work by just cutting back on everyday expenses? Like clipping coupons and not eating out? Maybe trimming back things like phone bills, cable costs, etc?

 

Not trying to be nosy...it's just that Mr CK and I live on an income of about $800-$900 a month and we are really good at cutting costs.

Yeah, I mean, Mr.Z and I will talk. And I have some "padding". And it would be one thing if it was like "You'll only make X for a year or two and then it'll get better". But it's a job in publicly funded arts... sooooooo... not much chance for a big fat raise.

But yeah, thanks. Good to remember that the conversation is not totally over. We haven't looked at the hard and fast numbers.

The pretty pics of U2 are helping me through an extremely tough weekend. It isn't a cure all, but the distraction helps a bit. I hope you figure things out. I had to make that decision with my current job, and it took me a while. Let me know if you need to talk.

The BFF thing sucks. Life would be so much easier sometimes if people just let you know what they were thinking. If I piss someone off, I wish they would just let me know. On the computer, so much is lost that it can get so easy for things to be taken wrong.

I'd love a distraction! I have a wedding tonight, so that helps. Tomorrow would have been my Grandma's birthday. I told my family that instead of being sad, we should still mark the occasion. So we are getting together for lunch. I'm putting on a brave face, but it makes me so sad. I miss her so much still...
