Last year instead of gifts, my sister and I bought wine and spent Xmas night at home w/my mom & stepdad (we sent the kids home w/the husbands for the night after the family dinner/gift opening). Us 3 'girls' made popcorn, popped in a DVD, and drank wine. Then my sister and I crashed on the couch and Mom went upstairs so we could snag a few hours' sleep before the annual "day after Christmas" shopping haul that we've done for almost 15 yrs. It was one of the best Xmas moments ever.

Ok, for those of you following my "Saga of the Lost T-shirt" : THE ORIGINAL SHIPMENT CAME TODAY. It's a week late.

:lmao:

My mom says when the second one comes in, we can keep it too, even if they tell us we have to pay for it.... but, still, this is freaking hilarious.

Glad it finally arrived! Just don't tell them anything about the 2nd shirt, and just keep it. It's their mistake. :)

That sounds wonderful!

The best Christmas day I had was in 2006. I mean, they're ALL good in Hawaii, but that one was the best. We had a bunch of family and friends with us that year (normally it's just my immediate family), and we went to a fabulous restaurant for brunch, then spent the afternoon surfing, and had a really awesome dinner later on. It was super low key, but it was just SO cool to be surfing on Christmas Day.

Beach + Xmas =
I loved having Xmas in Florida when we lived there. Of course we HAD to go to the beach on Xmas day. :D

Indeed.

My parents have a timeshare, and the place where we stay is one block away from the beach. We're there pretty much from the moment we're awake until sunset.

37 days!! :hyper: Providing I fly on the day I hope to...

Ugh, I HATE snow. :( Hopefully it won't snow for you! It's funny - in my forecast app that I have on my computer, supposedly we're getting rain/snow showers tonight. It's currently 10C (50F) so if it happens at all, it ain't gonna stick. It's just way too warm.

Yeah, it was 60 here today, but I guess there's a big-ass storm that's been hitting Alaska the past few days and is supposed to come south starting tomorrow.

I like the nice weather, but I do love fall storms, too. I am torn.

I suggested that, but my mom replied with, "We need all the good karma we can get."

Never spent Christmas on a beach - never really wanted to (though I lived on an actual tropical island for 2 years), but that does amazingly wonderful...

Wasn't there a blurry photo of B in a kilt in Scotland in a pub or something? Could be from the same day.:hmm:

It says Ashley Judd on the picture. I think I do remember hearing about Bono in a kilt a few years ago.

Wait, I love you Google.

Happy New Year to U2 | The Sun |Home Scotland|Scottish News

New Year's Ever 2009, it says.

OMG FINALLY!!! Thank you Loner! Yeah we had a pic from that New years but the person cut the kilt off the photo so this is awesome! At last!

So.... I was watching Man On The Train last night. There's a scene where he's trying to teach Donald Southerland's character to enjoy cognac. He says something like "Put it in your mouth. Taste it. Swallow it. How did you like that." or something like that. Um, does anyone have the technology to get a sound byte off of a movie from their TV?

I might have to rewatch that scene this afternoon :shifty:

Mmmm, Brad Paisley.

Almost time to buy tickets. 5 more minutes :yikes:

I have no words for that right there.....Like I cannot imagine it. I think that every member of U2 should record that exact scene.....And watch PGP go quiet....

So, after 2 hours of exercise (yes 2 fucking hours) I've burned 1100 calories and I'm ready to clean the house or take a nap.

I watched Brad Paisely on the CMA's this week (don't judge). He's good.

I did a spin class with an instructor about as thin as my thigh. Then I did about an hour on the elliptical. Now, I am failing at cleaning. I blame the Island Records special. I was about to be productive then U2 came on.

Oh. my. :shifty:

The only thing I can think of is aiming your camera at the TV and shooting the video. I did that once so I could upload U2's SNL performance for the girls here. It ended up being unintentionally hilarious, because it was taped from the TV onto a VCR, and my VCR barely works and cuts out all the time. So I was cursing as the video would cut in/out. It's not super good quality, but at least you can see it...

Got my concert tickets :hyper:

Excellent!

It's super rainy and gross outside, and I don't want to go out. The problem is that I have a groupon for a restaurant that's expiring, so I NEED to use it today. They have an AWESOME breakfast menu, so I should be happy, but it's RAINING!! I'm such a dweeb. It rains here all the time. I just need to get up off my ass and go get my fabulous breakfast.

You found a scene involving an 80-something-year-old-man porny? :yikes:

 Kidding. That didn't even occur to me while I was watching.

What did you think of the movie?
