I'm not a big VH fan (my ex used to be, probably why I don't like them much :madspit: ) but I LOVE the CD F.U.C.K.!!

It's called "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge," and it's got Right Now, Top of the World, Poundcake, Runaround.

I think I'm the only person in the world who likes Sammy VH best.

One of my favourite songs from the Susan Werner cd I'm listening to:

MISERY & HAPPINESS
From: New Non-Fiction (2001)
Copyright © Susan Werner

Misery
Misery sings at the Hilton
Steps into the purple spotlight
Leans into the microphone
Misery
Sways his hips and smooths his hair back
Winks at you and gets you thinking
He is handsome from a certain angle
Happiness
Slips in and takes a seat
At a table in the corner
And watches you with real concern, yeah
Happiness
Walks up and taps your shoulder and says
"Call me when you wanna come back home"

Misery
Woos you when his show is over
Buys you drinks and keeps you laughing
While he's looking down your shirt
Misery
Says, "I believe in destiny"
Says, "Destiny says brought us together"
Says, "Who's that asshole in the corner?"
Happiness
Doodles on a cocktail napkin
And waits for you to figure out
That you should really lose this loser
And Happiness
Smiles a sympathetic smile that says
"Call me when you wanna come back home"

Misery
Says, "Oh I know life can be too hard to bear sometimes, yeah"
Misery
Says, "So why don't we go get a room upstairs
'Cos I never disappoint"

Misery
Says, "Hey baby where you going?
I thought we had an understanding
You shouldn't really lead me on like that"
Misery
Says, "Well lady I know your kind
You'll settle down with someone boring
And then you will come looking for me"
And Happiness
Says, says, "Misery leave her alone
'Cos I know you get your share of girls
But I prefer a full-grown woman"
Happiness
Says, "Honey you know the number
Call me when you wanna come back home
Call me when you wanna come back home to me
Call me when you wanna come back home"

I can't think off the top of my head if there are any U2 Lyrics with the phrase/concept of waiting, just around the corner, that kind of snippet... I'm working on a wallpaper

How about "Jesus... she was just around the corner... did you try to warn her?" from Wake Up Dead Man?

Happy New Year! Sweet dreams, and thanks for a great year, and for what will be, I am sure, another one to come.

and no one asked for it....but you'll read it...and laugh.
 :reject:

Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried.

Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.

Chuck Norris does not hunt because the word hunting infers the probability of failure. Chuck Norris goes killing.

If you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you. If you can't see Chuck Norris you may be only seconds away from death.

Chuck Norris sold his soul to the devil for his rugged good looks and unparalleled martial arts ability. Shortly after the transaction was finalized, Chuck roundhouse kicked the devil in the face and took his soul back. The devil, who appreciates irony, couldn't stay mad and admitted he should have seen it coming. They now play poker every second Wednesday of the month.

Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.

To prove it isn't that big of a deal to beat cancer. Chuck Norris smoked 15 cartons of cigarettes a day for 2 years and aquired 7 different kinds of cancer only to rid them from his body by flexing for 30 minutes. Beat that, Lance Armstrong.

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris built a time machine and went back in time to stop the JFK assassination. As Oswald shot, Chuck met all three bullets with his beard, deflecting them. JFK's head exploded out of sheer amazement.

A blind man once stepped on Chuck Norris' shoe. Chuck replied, "Don't you know who I am? I'm Chuck Norris!" The mere mention of his name cured this man blindness. Sadly the first, last, and only thing this man ever saw, was a fatal roundhouse delivered by Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.

When Chuck Norris sends in his taxes, he sends blank forms and includes only a picture of himself, crouched and ready to attack. Chuck Norris has not had to pay taxes ever.

Chuck Norris once ate three 72 oz. steaks in one hour. He spent the first 45 minutes having sex with his waitress.

Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Chuck Norris can touch MC Hammer.

:hmm: this is more of a sexy wallpaper... I'm actually working on a cap from the picture that inspired the wallpaper right now, which is why I didn't take the time to search through lyrics myself

Okay, this one's unrecorded... You really have to see Susan do this one live to truly appreciate it (*remembers adlib about Baron being "hung like a Lippizaner stallion"*) :giggle:

DOW RE MI
Copyright © Susan Werner
Description: Guitar, to the tune of "Do Re Mi"

Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you sing you begin with Do Re Mi
To make money you begin NYSE
NYSE
The first four letters just happen to be NYSE
It means the New York Stock Exchange

Oh dear, let's see if I can make this easier

The Dow is an average of industrial stocks
NASDAQ is high technology
S&P is blue-chip stocks
Wilshire samples all the stocks that be
Bull, the market's going up
Bear, the market's going down
Crash, we all jump off a cliff
That would bring us back to the Dow

[ad lib]

Now children, let's try this song together, I'll give you little clues

First think of a Chinese philosophy:
Dow
And now think of high technology stocks, Intel, Amazon.com:
NASDAQ
Now think of two initials, not A&P but:
S&P
Very good, now think of a kind of financial steak sauce:
Wilshire
Now everything Pat Buchanan says is:
Bull
Now everything George W. Bush says is hard to:
Bear
And now what does America Online do every afternoon?
Crash

Let's try it all together children now

The Dow is an average of industrial stocks
NASDAQ - NASDAQ is high technology
S&P - S&P is blue-chip stocks
Wilshire - Wilshire samples all the stocks that be
And the bull - bull, the market's going up
And the bear - bear, the market's going down
And the crash - crash, we all jump off a cliff
That would bring us back to Dow, Dow, Dow

[ad lib to end]

:giggle: :lmao:

(And no apologies to anyone who likes Sound of Music, this is far too funny  )
