PGP - are you too good to show us your bloopers??

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I've never ventured into the gif thread before. My guess is that it's dangerous.

It's only 9pm, but I'm calling it a night. I figure I probably need the extra sleep if I want to be able to be functional at work tomorrow. G'night, all!

Nice

Any Adam ones? (If not, please feel free to repost the Larry swatting Adam's ass from the first Helsinki show, I haven't saved it yet )

There is an adam one in the gif thread, a page or two back. And yeah, I haven't seen the ass slap in, like 27 hours :crack:

Ok caught up at last, and it's only nearly 4 AM! I've been reading all the requirements etc at that site and I think I'll be ok, tho I was worried for a long time and thought I didn't have enough memory because it says you need at least 4.3 G free space and I saw mine said I had 4 G ram memory... but... I finally figured out those are 2 different things... I think... :uhoh: So I was ready to order it and install but I ran out of time and better go sleep. I thank you and cori for all your help and info  (however you will be sorry when I can't figure it out after installing and come crying to you for help again  ) Oh and I take it from your info that you found for me that I DO have a dual layer burner, right? Double = same as dual? I hope? And here I didn't even know I even HAD a dvd burner!

I like the way the thread has a serious post about DVD burners then a smut post :lmao:

:sexywink:

(ok that's not exactly smutty, more like  damn.)

You know, I know it sucks sometimes to be standing in a downpour, but how rude is it to have an umbrella at a concert? I would not be happy to be standing behind those people in the crowd with umbrellas.

I think only assholes do that. :| I'm tall so when smaller people have umbrellas in a tight crowd I always get them in my frickin' EYES. Wear a poncho if you don't want to get wet!

K got regular dvds, but they can hold up to 120 minutes. Is there a way to 'shrink' my dvd, since it's 126min? Vp you said the program does it for you, but how do you tell it to do that? I can't find it in settings or whatever.

YAY! :hyper: Glad you got it figured out.

Meanwhile, here in Seattle, I've discovered how to burn YouTube videos to DVD. :uhoh:

There goes my weekend as I reconstruct my miscellaneous video collection.

Enjoy the burning Cori!

:faint: Oh dear lord. Seeing the leatrher up big on video. Oy. :combust:

Shame the dvd is shot from Adam's side middle tho, means I won't be able to find myself on it.

Gonna burn Amsterdam 21-07-09 next. :hyper:

And I'd love to have a good Russian or Helsinki dvd as well. :shifty:

Nice!

My whole weekend will be spent watching Lost. No real surprise there. I'm glad there's no TV shows on right now that I'm interested in watching, because it gives me more time to slog thru the 38 DVD's I now have.

I've been watching Rescue Me and True Blood (among others), and am surprised that both are ending for the season in another 1 or 2 episodes. I keep forgetting a lot of these shows have such short seasons!

This dvd is dangerous to watch in public. My god. it's almost pornography.

Some parts are really good. But also some parts have one band member half in screen or very blurry. Kinda shitty.

 He did capture the Edgebounce after his solo in Elevation perfectly tho!

:lmao: Oh god, Bono's speech in alien voice. Fuckin' awesome! *snerk* Bono slapping his ass. You can see Adam laughing about Princess Leia, and then Larry eyeing Bono wondering what introduction he gets. Then when Bono says Darth Vader Larry laughs really cutely! :cute:

Ha - welcome to the world of video bootlegs. Sometimes surprisingly awesome, sometimes really frustrating.

Had a funny little thing happen today.

I had an appointment at the bank with my usual personal banking officer. Her name is Tamara. She's really cool. Her husband is obsessed with U2 and the last time I was there we were chatting about the Toronto show I went to.
Anyways, we were chatting today and she asked me if I was going to anymore U2 shows. Well of course I rambled on about our epic trips next summer
She said if her husband heard what I was saying, he'd hop in my suitcase
I told her she should take him to the Minneapolis show next summer.
Just thought it was kinda funny how I went there to talk about banking things and we ended up talking about U2 for a good 10 minutes :D

:grumpy: Amsterdam was burning while I was eating dinner, but it failed for an unknown reason. Bugger.

As long as your computer has the typical specs for that model, then yes, it should be a dual layer dvd burner. Although any computer new enough to come with 4 gigs of RAM should certainly have a dual layer.

The program needs hard drive space when you're converting and burning a dvd, because the converted dvd file is stored in a temp file, and it's the temp file that's burned. When the dvd is done, it deletes itself, unless you set it to save the conversion, but I'm pretty sure the default setting is to delete. That gets tricky for me sometimes, because I try to keep as many shows on my computer as possible, so that I can upload for others, so my hard drive is almost always nearly full. It's a balancing act. :uhoh:

Anything I can help you with, just let me know! I enjoy getting my geek on.

IT WORKED :yippie:

So the lack of DL was the problem indeed. Thanks again for the help VP!

Yay, glad it worked for you! I assume you also figured out that you don't need to do anything to shrink the file to fit, that it does it for you.

As you get familiar with the program, you can mess around with it and see all the things it does do, though. It gives you a lot of options for burning, creating titles, menus, backgrounds, but it's also easy enough for a beginner to use the default settings.

There goes my weekend as I reconstruct my miscellaneous video collection.

 Cori's lost weekend. Are you using IMG Burn for that?

Are you reconstructing shows, or are you just burning random files you've found over the years? Have you checked out Pirate Bay? I've found some cool stuff on there. Took DAYS to download some of it, but it was worth it.

:faint: Oh dear lord. Seeing the leatrher up big on video. Oy. : combust:

We've created a new addict. :cute: I really don't like watching stuff (esp U2) on my laptop. Why watch it on 15 inches when you can watch it on 40 inches? :shifty:

OH, GG!!! Another thing ConvertX does, not sure if you know this - when you set it up, you put in whether you use PAL or NTSC - well, with this program, you can download either file format, and it will automatically convert it to what you need!

:envy: I don't know what to do, if I should grab it now, or wait till Christmas. :scream:

I've been watching Rescue Me and True Blood (among others), and am surprised that both are ending for the season in another 1 or 2 episodes. I keep forgetting a lot of these shows have such short seasons!

After our summer-long The West Wing marathon, we spent the past three nights watching season 4 of Dexter - I'd seen it last year but Sarah hadn't. She'd heard about it, knew the basic plot and the surprise ending. Lithgow was just as chilling as he was the first time. :shudder:

We also have True Blood to catch up on, and a couple of others. Alas, she goes back to school in a few weeks, so we'd better get cracking!

In the spring while she was laid up with her broken leg, we downloaded one ep each of West Wing, True Blood, Vampire Diaries and Big Love, and watched them all to decide what to watch. We liked them all in varying degrees, but chose West Wing first.
