I think that 'shook for no reason at all' is the scarier answer.

Glad it wasn't too bad and you and your cats are okay

We had one here a couple months ago, and that is very rare for VA. I was driving in a car so I didn't feel it, but my husband said the house shook and everyone I know said stuff moved around. It's not something we get here so people wondered at first. My brother's wife said she thought it was just a truck going by, but he thought it was a quake. He went outside and the next door neighbor was out too, so he asked her what she thought and she said no question it was a small quake and she had seen many. She's from southern California!
