yes , it's a real photo.
If you look careful you'll see bono is half submersed in water. you can see the reflection of his hat in the water.

it was taken in France by Helena Christenson (sp?)
appartantly she is also a bit of a photographer.
I think that other pic of Edge is also done by her.

Didn't she have an exposition where ALi was photographed in front of this pic, I'm quite sure I've seen that pic hereat some point.
