I tried explaining the story of 'the poor otter that nobody wanted' to my mother over the phone....she was laughing hysterically before I even got to the part about the pics from the restaurant.

Sorry to this old thread, but I have an update on the reject otter.

My sister rescued a stray kitten at her work yesterday and has decided to keep him. Reject otter is the kitten's favorite toy .
