*WOW*..you know I always wondered why Bono did not join the Prunes since all his best mates were in that band, and instead decided to join 3 unknown guys to him that would eventually become U2....not that Im complaining but Guggi(Derek) and Gavin(Fionan) knew young Paul way since thay were kids...

It's like Bono was meant to belong to U2 or something.....

There's no way Bono could have joined the Virgin Prunes first. They didn't exist until Dik Evans left U2 (or more correctly The Hype) to start a band with Gavin, Guggi et al. And U2/TheHype existed first because of Larry's initiative, not Bono's. Anyway, Bono never had much interest in doing the kind of in-your-face performance art those guys wanted to do. The criteria for being in one band or the other wouldn't have been which one has your closest friends; it was which approach to performance are you most interested in.

True that! I didnt say that Bono had or should have joined the prunes because his childhood friends were in it ..I was just curious that he was not in that band!!! ..I know that he performed with them at times, and they really helped each other out in the very early years...The only thing is that I was not aware that Feedback/Hype was formed before The Prunes..other than that I agree about Bono's difference in wanting to express his views in another way! !!!!
