Is this Bono? I don't think so ... at all.

sorry for intruding on the battle of bono impersonators  but I didnt feel like making my own thread

edge63927623-.jpg

hey I found this on some u2 website but it was in spanish:eyebrow: I was hopeing it was the real edge b/c its kinda sexy... but :| it just doesnt look like his face.. thats not him right?

no way that's Edge! the rest of his face is too smooth, and the hands are not the same as Edges...that doesn't look like one of Edge's guitars, Edge has his guitar a bit.. lower than this guy... That's larry's Elevation shirt, not Edges
and I've never seen Edge wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses onstage(well besides pop, but this ain't the pornstar moustache!)

I'd say the only thing that could be from the Edge in this pic is the guitarpick

That pic to too funny..that a person would actually believe that was Bono but that is really Duff....I have seen him around.......I live in LA...

Is it me or does he really look nothing like bono? I mean yeah he's got eyes and hair and some grey stubble but really - from the first nano second i could see its not him. I understand from afar you could squint and go 'wow that dude looks like like bono wait a minute...nup he doesn't'

There was a fake Bono at the concert here in Australia and a few people were asking him 'are you bono?' he wouldn't answer just sorta laughed and walked away. People were getting photos with him (i think most of them realised it wasn't him but just getting into the spirit of things) but for some like one girl who started crying and threw herself at his feet its like - suspend your excitement for 1 second and think, why would bono be walking around in the ellipse at his own concert? Also why would he be wearing a U2 concert t-shirt?! And wow, I didn't know he grew his hair long again in one day! He srsly is GOD. :tsk:

sorry, i do feel for honest people who may get duped by "impersonators" but really, how many 'bono' impersonators ever really look like the real thing that people could be mistaken.

The dude in the first photo, Pavel is orange, dumpy, broad and really doesn't look anything like Bono.

there is a difference between those who dress up, pretend to be celebrities and have the mentality thinking they really ARE those celebrities, trying to "dupe" the public etc. and "celebrity impersonators".
i strongly feel that most people on this forum neglect to comprehend that with being a celebrity impersonator, that person is "working" and getting PAID for their appearance!
the celebrity impersonator doesnt just show up at a convention and walk around trying to fool every last soul that they are the real deal. they are being paid for their appearance at that convention. its all about promotion.
some celebrity impersonators can take off the costume, like an elvis suit, and others just cant! they cant remove their face when they arent working...
yeah, being a celebrity impersonator is a wacky job, but its a job...
i agree on what celebrity impersonator ever really looked like the real celebrity... i am a big fan of U2, but i dont go around collecting thousands of photos, nor follow/stalk them around the world hoping to meet the members. i do however, know what bono looks like, and wouldnt be 'duped' by an impersonator. i think bono is just another human, not god. a great human at that, but still not god. i wouldnt fall at his feet crying etc if i ever had the chance to be in the same 3 square feet with him.
i have been to a few U2 tribute band shows as well. those are really fun, as you wouldnt be able to see the real U2 in such a small up close and personal venue, and its fun to pretend for a few hours isnt it? tribute bands too get paid for their appearances.
to think that someone who is a celebrity impersonator is an "imposter" trying to dupe the world that they really are the real deal, is quite moronic.
the difference about pavel and other bono impersonators is when you take away the leather jacket, glasses, etc, you still have a wonderful human being, a humanitarian. a genuine and pure soul that does not live under a rock between gigs. people do see him at the grocery store and when he is filling up his car with gas... he is the type of person that will stop and ask the check out girl hi, how are you? (and mean it!). we need more people like that, whether they look like bono, cher, madonna, elvis or joe schmoe and his neighbor, around in this world.
and there is also a strong difference between those fans and then those who turn into stalker mode...
would the real bono approve of your negativity towards another human being - regardless of their job? even more so, what would your god say?

and as for how much pavel resembles bono... well, apparently ford motors thought so enough to pay him for that commercial, and i am still shocked that his boston trip to visit family & friends hasnt been linked to bono sightings yet... even though it WAS mentioned on the radio that it was pavel, and not bono... that boston sighting board is a little eerie to read, seeing all these "fans" dream up on why bono would be in boston - with his daughter viewing colleges? etc etc etc.

smirk & shruggs...

I did read it. And sorry but no, it hasn't. Unless you are saying that because he is being paid, it's ok to fool people like the girl at the beginning of the thread.

first of all, i dont care what any god would say because i don't believe in any gods, so off with that sort of talk :tsk:

also there is no negativity here im not running down people who impersonate celebrities, i don't care what they do - but when most of them don't even look like the said celeb, i just find it funny that people believe it

secondly, ford motors are sad sad sad for hiring a bono impersonator for an ad, especially one that doesn't hardly look like him. Just because your short, you dye your hair, wear some beads and glasses and try and talk with an irish accent doesn't make you Bono.

it was meant in general, not directed specifically towards you. if you read the whole 10 pages of this board, its a diss-fest.

A humanitarian, a genuine and pure soul....

Let me guess - You're Pavel, right?

i am still shocked that his boston trip to visit family & friends hasnt been linked to bono sightings yet... even though it

How many people here (who are from all over the world) would have heard that on what we must presume was a local radio station? Why would that even have been on the radio?
(NEWS FLASH! The person seen in Boston was not, I repeat not, Bono, but actually Pavel, the humanitarian and paid Bono impersonator, who is really a genuine and pure soul just in town visiting his family.)

I'm sorry. It's total bullshit! This arse is capitalizing off of Bono's fame by doing a commercial of all things. You do not see other impersonators doing that do you. No you don't. The people who dedicate their time and lives by doing a tribute band are better than this Pavel guy. They are the stand up guys not Pavel.

Pavel looks nothing like Bono at all. It's sad that people are being duped into believing he is Bono. You can defend this idiot all you want but he looks and acts nothing like Bono.

Poor Pavel, can't "take his face off" between gigs, is therefore forced to dress as Bono, affect an Irish accent, and trick gullible fans into believing he IS Bono. I suppose it's just an unavoidable quirk of his penmanship that causes his signature to read as Bono rather than Pavel?

Poor guy, Bono has just taken over his life, hasn't he? :tsk:
