Info on this pic

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
It's in BP's book, on a page with a collage of pics. It's Ali, Naomi, Helena, and Christy and they were singing karaoke to a Madonna song. Like Patske said, I think it was at a wedding. Google says Gavin and Renee were married 1 Oct 1993, so I think that's it. Sorry I don't have the book here.

That's right, it was at Gavin's wedding reception which took place (where else?) at the Clarence. There are a few pics of it in BP's book. The women were singing a karaoke version of "Like a Virgin" in The Kitchen, which hadn't opened yet. There are also pics of Larry singing Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town", and Bob Hewson singing "For the Good Times". There are so many great pics in that book!

Pics-wise, this book is better than any officially released U2 book, even if it's a bit shorter. Get one if you ever have the chance! (they're out of print)

Cool! Thanks for the tip! I had no idea he was married.

Why did I think he was single?

Erm, maybe because he ended up divorced? Or so I've heard:reject:

Perhaps one of the Gavin fans around here can clarify...

Which book is this exactly? :reject:

i think it's "Until the end of the world"...unfortunately it can't be found easily. For instance here the Italian version is not sold anymore, so we gotta buy it the English one (which is hard to found as well)

It's by BP Fallon and it's "Far Away, So Close." It's soft cover, but big, mostly pictures, and has been out of print for a while.

This is the Bill Flanagan one and it's like a normal book (hundreds of pages of text). It should be widely available via Amazon or book sites.

thanks Lies, I should see if I can get my hands on that one (somehow) :)

I have the Flanagan book

It's a great book, a must-have for the photos. A lot of photos commonly posted in PLEBA are in the book. He has great candid shots of the band goofing off, rather than page after page of similar concert shots.

He also has some really great stories, including the time a naked Bono jumped out of a speeding baot and McGuinness jumped in to "save" him, or the time Edge and Bono went to a live sex show. That latter one was especially funny (and definitely not something you'll read about in Bono in Conversation).

In that case, I am so gald I bought it when I did. I found it in a bargain bin at an entertainment store a few years ago for only $4.95!
