Long E--if there were two b's (PLEBBA), it would be a short E.

Sorry, I'm not making the connection between the long E and the cadets.

PLEE-BA!

There was someone here a few months ago who kept spelling the acronymn PLEABA. I thought that was kinda funny. I read it plee-ah-bah in my mind.

I'd never thought about this before!

I pronounce it pl - EH - ba. I don't think I could say it any other way.

Pleeeeeebah.

A short 'e' sound would require two consonants following it (would be acceptable for PLEBBA).
