Hawkmoon 269

Hmmm...I am wondering about this song..Is there a video for it? And what does the title mean? Why does Bono's voice sound so deep and sexy? I think I am having a Bono craze after seeing all those stills.

I think Bono made up that name. I think part of it's inspired by a hotel he was staying at, but I'm not sure. I dunno, I've never really liked that song.

I love this song. It is one of my favorites from "Rattle and Hum" . I don't think there is a video of it, but there is some rare video footage of them performing a bit of the song in the Sydney Lovetown tour thing that was shown a while back on Direct TV. ( thanks elizabeth!!)

There was a rumour that this song came from a town called Hawkmooon in one of the Dakotas that U2 visited. I can't remember the details and I don't think anyone knows for sure if it was true or not...

I would LOVE to hear this song in concert someday..........

I love this song... According to Niall Stokes, it is the 269th mix of the song. I believe Hawkmoon is a town like OG said.

I thought they pulled it off of a highway sign on their way to Arizona. The city is Hawkmoon and was 269 miles away from the sign Bono saw.

NO way Stormy! I've always had a thing for Bono..especially long-haired, cobalt-eyed
Bono of the 80's...but Larry Bear is always my first choice. I'm just having a day(or 2)of Bonolust. And rightfully so..right girls?

I'm pretty sure Sharky's explanation is the right one.

It's okay, I know you love Larry! A lot of PLEBAns have flirted and had affairs with one of the guys other than their own, but they always come back to number one. Go ahead and have your lust, and *SIGH* I'll go to bed now, dreaming of long haired, cobalt-eyed 80's Bono. SWOOOON thanks for the happy thought!

Yeah I guess they mixed the song 269 times and the song took on many different forms. They basicaly kept building on it until it sounded so different from what they wanted that they stripped it back to the version you hear on the album.
