I don't think that I ever noticed that part. Everytime that I saw the video, and it got to the thursting part I fainted, I would wake up just in time to see him thursting again. It is a viscious (SP??) cycle.

At the job that I had when POP came out we had these promo video tapes for it. It had the Discoteque video 4 times, and other video's between it. That's all it was. 8 U2 video's. Let me just say that I should have gotten fired, because I did nothing but stare at the screen all shift. We had tons of other Promo video's, but I refused to watch them. Fortunatly there was two other U2 fanatics there. Eventually the promotion was over, and we came in to work one day to find out that someone had thrown away the tape!!!

Damn them to Hell!!!

During the BOOM CHA part everyone else is barely undulating and Bono is *THRUST*ing. SERIOUSLY. It's great. He gyrates a lot in that video. Not that I've watched it since I taped it...em.....

Me and my mom were watching it last night, taping it, and went like this:

Us: *watching video in silence*
Me: *trying not to giggle as Bono practically gropes the camera*
My mom: .......
Me: *sees Bono in his police uniform, thrusting his crotch right into the camera, then again, and then again*
My mom: .... *SNORT*

Eh.. you had to be there. Anyway, isn't that just the best video?!

The If God Will Send His Angels video is really good too -- Bono is really sexy in that, IMO.

LMAO!! I'm just impressed that they were able to convince Larry to put the cowboy outfit on. I think the pelvic thrusts would have been asking too much of poor Lars. And Bono is SO into it. I think we all know who's idea that video was...

But I can't decide which video Larry was less into: this one or the drag "One" video. He looks *SO* pissed in that one, sitting there in his pretty little dress

I love the part where he shakes his head.

Me and my mom were talking about Larry in the cowboy outfit, actually. She said she was surprised he got into the outfit at all, and Adam too, and I said,"Oh no, I think everyone but Larry would do the outfits. Definitely Bono and Edge, probably Adam, but not Larry.." Eh. Anyway, I am still in shock we get to see Larry with that outfit on.

lol -- I remember that's mentioned in the Flanagan book. Bono says something about it was easy to get him in the dress and makeup, but he still wanted to wear boots and put his feet up on tables.

hahaha. Ali Rose and I were just talking about this the other night on the drive to her place while listening to Discotheque. And we pretty much agreed that Larry does look grumpy at being forced to partake. Adam looks...well...game for it, but not exactly sure of what's happening. Edge tho!!! He was totally jammin'. lmao. Dontcha love those little hand-jives he does? Bono...we won't even go there.

i love the discotheque video, it has to be my favorite pOp video, they look like they were having a great time doing the video and pretend disco dancing! i also love the 2 Hearts video, just because Adam's got a great groove on the song, but he looks so adorable in the video!

I remember when I first watched this in 97 I was beyond frightened. Little me had just discovered the name of the band and their Joshua Tree songs thanks to Blown Away and Napster that when I was flipping channels and saw the title of the video I went "oh U2" expecting something along the same lines of JT.

Instead I saw a bunch of village people wannabe. I forced myself to watch the video but when the camera thrusting part came on I couldn't do it. I changed the channel. As a result I hated that song and never fully watched the video, though I had tried many many times, until I heard the song live in opening night Miami.

I have watched the video many times since but still to this day, no matter how good Bono looks in that white suit, I can't help but crack up and quiver at same time throughout the whole video and especially at the end.

Like you all, to this day I wonder how they ever got Larry to 1) dress up in drag 2) be a cowboy in this video.

Okay, so I just downloaded the vid from Morpheus....and let me say my eyes are STILL bugging out of my head! What an incredibly colorful video!
