They came up with the "In the Year 2000" skit way before the year 2000. So, they were making funny jokes about what would be happening in the future. Well eventually the year 2000 came and went, but they still wanted to do the skit, so they just kept it with the same name.

You can see it on CNBC channel on Tuesday night in Europe bit late but better than never! think its around 10.30pm
