Well I have seen some of you post on this before, and I am worried. I just lost one of my best albums, "Bono photo collection-long haired Bono" because someone turned it in as having copyrighted pics. I would hate to think one of our own had done this, since most of us have Webshots accounts and no one wants to see us lose this ability to post on PLEBA. I was warned to -quote- go through and delete any pic I did not take myself'- that would leave me with a total of two. I think we all have this problem, I mean the U2 pics we upload were taken by others, most of them so far back in time we have no idea who or when. We gain no money from this, it's only for our pleasure and that of the others who read this forum. I was told that if this continues to happen, people will start losing their entire account! This is ridiculous of course, but what should we do girls? First, I hope we can make a pact not to rat each other out, that is really low. Then, we can just hope no one else does. Still, I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of our pic posting here.
Look, where did we get the pics in the first place? From here, and from other websites, many of them now gone. Where did those people who made the sites get them? Same places we do, here and there. Most of the historic pics of U2 are like classic reference, they belong to the ages.
I think we should all discuss this. We should start by not posting our addys any more, it only advertises. I have personally had over 40,000 hits on my page and I'm sure some of you have too. I would be interested in hearing anyone's stories or ideas on this. Come on. This is a problem for us all, whether we have a page or just like to look. Please respond, we need each other's input.
