Bono's Hair Transplants

i was watching the vertigo live dvd, and im guessing unlike his father bob, bob hewson, bono did not get the genes of 'hair retainability'

his hairline just looks completely wrong and unnatural (almost like a toupee) putting pieces of his 'receder' (ie area on the the head which connects the top to the side = the common thing that 'goes backwards' for men who lose their hair, compared to the thinning crown) cutting in deep to his sideburns just in order to keep the top area cropped

o.k edge has a beanie, but bono doesnt really have to hide his age, for all i care, i personally rather listen to him hit high notes than look at how he presents across the screen. just think about it: is pete townshend bald?

how vain do you have to be?

I don't think it's an issue of vanity with Bono, he's a celebrity, you know how people treat those guys. You may think that looks don't matter, but in the end, it does make a difference.

It does look odd in the "live" department (but then again, watch the Elevation DVDs too), but he has good hair genes, if anything.

It is thinning (and there are some "spot missing in the back of the head" photos, so he better fire the transplant people) - as obviously most hair eventually does - but he's not nowhere near a Edge (read: baldness) situation.

I think after 2006, he is basically dropping the long hair, notice the new haircut.

Bono is naturally as bald as a coot, as is his brother if I'm not wrong. He's been going bald since the Joshua Tree. The Edge has taken a lot of criticism down the years for wearing a hat to disguise his baldness, but I find this infinitely more acceptable than Bono's ultimate denial.

Oh please. If it was affordable you would do anything you could to maintain what you have. This is what a big chunk of the pharma industry is built off of; botox, lotions, rogaine, viagra, diet pills... people do all kinds of things so not to be reminded they're getting older, fatter, bald, etc...

If modern science allows you to keep your hair, then go for it. If it allows you to keep your skin, then go for it. If it allows you to have sex into your senior years, then go for it.

Stupid subject. Most male celebrities at a certain age have something done to make their hair look better and fuller. And guess what: Not only celebrities, also the guy next door. There are so many ways today to help out if you start loosing your hair.

People take cremes to reduce the numbers of wrinkles they get with age, why shouldn't they do something about hair loss? It's totally okay with me.

And to be honest, I think Bono looks great now with his hair short, the long hair started to look ridiculous in recent years, with his age and all. He's fine right now and I don't think he's balding anytime soon.

I just think stress, bad hormones, genes and a couple of other factors may have led to him having a bad hair structure/hairline .... you can clearly see he was starting to have problems with his hair during Zoo TV.

He may have had a transplant or extensions or whatever, who cares, he's a rock star after all. If I was him and had the money, I'd do the same.

As for the theory of Bono being bald .... please, I don't believe it. His hair looked rather natural most of the time, and it was very clear that he was thinning very much, that did not look like fake hair at all.

Oh piss off, I think Bono is out of order for pretending he's not bald, no need for you to get on your usual high horse for somebody expressing their opinion.

But why? Who cares? Is your girlfriend out of order when she tans in a tanning bed? Or if she dyes her hair?

I don't get what is so sacred to you about baldness that someone has to own it...

ahhhh, how the hell did I end up in PLEBA?

Meh.

If we're going to judge Bono, then why not criticize anyone who's ever died their hair, plucked their eyebrows, paid a personal trainer.....

I don't really care what anyone else does with their body.

Poor old Edge, the guy obviously has an inferiority complex about his barnet, I bet he wishes he'd started to lose his hair a few years later like Bono did, when the technology existed to hide it fairly convincingly. Shame ELton John didn't take note:-)) I couldn't care loss if my favourire pop star loses his hair or not, i just never thought old Bono was the kind of guy who'd give a shit about that kind of thing. It's a little disappointing that's all.

Sorry if I failed to inject sufficient humour into my previous postsI meant to be light hearted initially,I really don't care if Bono is bald or not, though he cleary is:-) My only problem with t is, that it reflects bady on a man of 50 years if he is so insecure about himself that he has to have hair implants. If it ever happens to me I certainly will grow bald naturally.

Well, good for you. The only thing it reflects to me is that Bono prefers himself with hair. Oh well....

After seeing Bono up close with his short hair I can say that there is no bald spot.
