Well, this is what MTV said, but everybody pretty much thinks it bullshit:
Apparently, Britney was going to play guitar & sing "I'm a Slave 4 U" live, but when U2's performance got delayed (cause a guitar amp blew out) they had to strach that idea w/ Britney & have her lip-sync cause they were afraid the same thing would happen again....
In my opinion that makes no sense because:
1)Britney lip syncs nearly all of her performances
2)Why would they have choreography memorized for the whole song if Britney was going to sit & play guitar through some of it?
3) MTV obviously wasn't worried about U2's performance being screwed up again cause they threw them out there again
4)MTV tried to hide the evidence by cutting out Bono's comments - so the people who missed it & watched at a later time wouldn't know..... (but it's too late fo that 'cause I downloaded their performance & it still has the part where Bono says "We're sorry for the breakdown in transmission....")
And this is why U2 get blamed again for what was going to be a bad night anyways
I was watching with my old roommate and did any one else notice that Carson Daly addressed a question to Larry by calling him Adam? The boys tried to be nice and blow it off as joke but Carson really didn't know that he was talking to a cardboard cut out.
~ Yeah, and Carson Daly did some serious ass kissing up there - and I saw when he called Larry Adam, and Larry just looked at him like "So this is what MTV has become..."
Ugh..
