I thought that for sure:

Acrobat
So Cruel
Lemon
Wild Horses
Dirty Day
Your Blue Room

would all be on there but alas they arent!

actually i checked back, "your blue room" is on the b-side cd. "dirty day (junk day remix)" is on the b-side too. but still, the others should be included too. let's face it, u2 are just SO good that all their music is "best of" material. :D (except for "the first time". that one just threw me off...LOL)

Yep, I'm missing songs too, but they have too many great songs and they have to choose between them. I'm sure lot of people are going to miss songs  Anyway, at least we have an album  and the most important, we have Electrical Storm

you know what i am thinking about walk on and elevation... that they maye have been singles in 2001, i can't remember if they were the 3rd and 4th single, and perhaps beautiful day and stuck in a moment were released in 2000. this could be a possible explanation i'm not sure though. but may i say wooooohoooooo to the b-sides with summer rain!!

 can't be the best without WGRYWH

ditto, Mona. Although I do prefer the single versions infinitely more than the album one, but still :( *sigh* oh well, there's still NEW CD's to look forward to and a new single!.....

Well, gosh, what's a band with entirely too many great songs for one CD to do? Unfortunately, leave out some of our favorites. I'm disappointed "Dirty Day" isn't going to be on the album; that's one of my favorites. You could say that "Walk On" and "Elevation" are from 2001; now that it's 2002 "Walk On" is associated by many of us in the U.S. at any rate with 9/11 and it was certainly a big part of the post 9/11 shows and the 2002 Grammy "Record of the Year" Award winner. That's kind of gloomy but it's part of their landscape now, and indeed sort of the global landscape, as unfortunate as that is.  I'm just glad we are getting a new album with two new songs and some interesting remixes.

*hops over to read the tracklisting/article thingy*

1. I'd just like to say I wholly approve of the tracklisting for the A-sides. The First Time was a bit of a suprise but I think its a good one.. I was kinda missing Lemon, but since it's going to be on the B-sides than it's all good.

2. I'm also suprised that for the B-sides they used so many remixes instead of other songs. I haven't heard most of them so I can't judge... but Dirty Day (Junk Day) = better than the one on the album IMHO. But it's missing Two Shots of Happy man, that should be on there. And Big Girls are Best cos I'm partial to that.

4. I LIKE THE DVDS

Further exclusive content includes a mini documentary, The Road To Sarajevo, filmed in the Bosnian capital in the run up to U2's historic 1997 concert and complete with performance footage.

i'm glad that gone made it on (hope the new mix is like the live version of the song and not like the album version) but i was hoping last night on earth and please would make it. im also sad that WGRYWH isn't on it but there are sooooo many good songs from achtung baby it's kinda understandable.

i was also hoping for ground beneath her feet to be on it cause it's not on the NA version of ATYCLB and i don't have TMH sdtk....maybe as a hidden track like october was.

...and the first time...and no always on the b-sides but they put summer rain......WTF???????

and the dvd looks great,....can't wait to get that :D

some more news...

from atu2.com:

*snip*

"If it's visceral thrills you're after, the Best Of... DVD will feature promo videos of tracks from the A-Sides CD, complete with commentary by directors Wim Wenders, Kevin Godley, Stephane Sednaoui, Anton Corbijn and Jonas Akerlund. Six bonus tracks are included ?- "Please," "If God Will Send His Angels," "Wild Horses," "Lemon," "Last Night on Earth" and "Mofo."

so, in a way, some of the songs we wanted to be on the best of did make it, but as an extra cd. i can live with that! :)

sometimes I really do think U2 reads interference...

you know they put the dvd in there for people like us who have all the songs on the cds in the first place
I mean, we're the people who would be running out and buying it the first week anyway, so they gotta give us something special to make it worthwhile :)

loveyouU2

on a related and certainly exciting note my roomie and I FINALLY got my dvd player to work with her tv/playstation/vcr. However all electronics are stacked atop one another which is atop my microwave which is atop the fridge.
tower of entertainment = almost six feet tall and rather wobbly
