The claddagh ring was created by Richard Joyce, a Galway native who was captured by Algerian pirates whilst on a trip to the west Indies.
He was sold as a slave to a goldsmith who trained him in the art of metal working.
Released sometime around 1690, he returned to Galway where he created the Claddagh ring. Earlyest examples of the rimg date back to the 1700`s
The ring symbolizes love (heart), friendship (hands) and loyallty(crowd)
Tradidionally the ring can be worn three different ways.
Worn on the right hand, heart facing out = the wearer searching love.
Worn on the right hand, heart facing in = there are possibilitis. a
Worn on the left hand with the heart facing in = the wearer`s heart is promissed forever.
The ring is usually given as a sign of love and friendship.
Normally the claddagh is made of silver or metal.
I don`t have a clue what kind of stone is on Adam`s ring.
