Allow me to further elaborate, in case anything is unclear.

A thread is closed for a reason. In this particular case, it was closed due to the subject being inappropriate for discussion. Therefore, we closed the thread so that discussion could not continue to take place. Creating a new thread defeats the purpose of the original being closed.
