36th RSOC meeting

Ok folks, letīs get out of meeting no.35 and letīs start meeting no. 36

Inspired by those pics from Rolling Stone mag Iīsay letīs talk about Adam Clayton fashion god!!!

Some quotes:

"Adam was just getting people to do him up in the back and swapping makeup tips with any girl that passed. You know suddenly he could own up to being interested in their underwear!"
Bono, regarding the making of the One video

"Men should not be forced to wear pants when it's not cold." (especially not when they look drop-dead gorgeous on a sarong..)

I'm a bass player. That's a "singer" question. Lord Adam Clayton

"The bass player's got it. The bass player's fucking got it." Bono, Boston 6-9-01

yea! ADAMDAY!
I'm so glad there's a new thread because the old one was making my computer freeze up...anyway, my personal AdamBusiness is as follows:

1. Adam looked stunning in RS
2. it's always nice to see an Adam interview
3. Adam doesn't get enough cameratime, ever
4. Adam's upside-down grin is SO purty
5. He excels at bass too
6. SPOONS, baby! SPOONS!

okay, now I'm just avoiding my homework...

HAPPY ADAMDAY TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD ADAMNIGHT!

LOL! Everyone feels that way...*tries to remember names and fails.* Well, I know Bonavoix does anyway. Hmm...more Adam-y goodness...

~was smart enough to quit school before he was my age

~is the all-around coolest bassist ever.

~MUCH cooler than Sting and Paul McCartney...

~although John Entwistle and Elizabeth are pretty cool too.

ADAM HAIKU!

~hairdo haiku:
Look at the blond fro
Adam you fashionplate! *kiss*
now it's a mohawk

~pantal haiku:
pants pants pants pants pants
If you have to wear those things
Go with the red ones

~AB Cover:
Adam the lesser
But not by that much, damn, look
Not that size matters

~flower arranging:
Blue flowers line up
like us blue background chicas
does not make sense, oops.

edited to add an RS pic haiku:
Perfect lips and nose
looking sky or waterward
fingers grip red rail

a haiku is a poem...they are three lines long: the first line is 5 syllables, the second 7, and the third 5 again.

edited to add the word "syllables" because I'm absent minded today

edited again to say OMD I'm so stupid, typing it in all caps. It probably looked like ALOTWU or something...GAH...bbug needs a nap, lol!

Good morning!!
how about an hilarious Adam ancedote early in the morning to celebrate RSOC!

This was taken from another emailing list, from a woman named Claire. It's Bono's speech at one of the Ele shows.

"I was sleeping on the floor last night
and I was remembering the various times over
the various years I have slept on floors on
concrete, in fields and under trees and lots
of places I have slept over the years. And I
was thinking of 1981, sleeping in the back
of vans, coming up the M1 here to play then
going back down and up. Then I remembered
something I'd forgotten for a long time which
was being in a van going to Berlin and
that time you had to go through the wall, me,
myself, Edge, Larry and Adam were sleeping in
the back of this van in the freezing cold and
it was wetter inside than it was outside and
there were lots of awful gases coming from
Adam's arse. It was quite an extraordinary occasion.
The next thing was the doors flew open and 2 giant alsation dogs jumped in and they
started going mental like they'd found some
drugs but they hadn't found some drugs, they
had found Adams....extraordinary...arse!
I haven't thought of that for like 15 years
(laughs) but i think we wrote a tune about it
on an album, not the arse but the...why am I
telling you this..Oh I know...this is a song
we wrote 10 yrs later in Berlin, its called
Stay."

Duuuude! I really want to know where Bono said that! Adam was probably like, "Yeah, thanks Bono, for sharing that."

ROFLMAOOOOOO

I Just *LOVE* how that story and Stay have NOTHING to do with each other but yet Bono makes a connection! LMAO!

this makes me reexamine the lyrics to Stay!

"you stop in for a pack of cigarettes"
"dressed up like a car crash"

"three o'clock in the morning
and there's no one around"
lmaoo

Not everyone can pull off wearing leopard print pants......

Here he is all dressed up and no where to go

Sometimes he doesn't even need clothes.......
he still looks good!

Sometimes a man just needs more freedom...

The start of his cammo wearing days.........

It takes a secure man to wear pink

One of my favorite pics of Adam. If we were to run into him in Dublin, I'd like to think he'd wear something like this........

Now we know who came up with the idea for Edge's numbered t shirts........

Only Adam can wear two shades of red....

And only Adam can wear purple and red at the same time..........
