Bono relays a story of the time he had been threatened (with death) for their campaign to get MLK Jr's birthday recognized as a federal holiday. They went on stage despite the FBI's advice to cancel, and during 'Pride: In the name of love' Bono closed his eyes and anticipated the shot he was certain would ring out. When he opened his eyes, Adam was standing in front of him 'wielding that Bass guitar as if it were a weapon; as only Adam Clayton Wields a Bass" prepared to take a bullet for Bono. I love that story Particularly that phrase {I'm only paraphrasing, but I think I got the basic story right}
