Sorry for the slight off topic, but is anybody planning on reauthoring the Live8 shows to DVD with menus etc.Im interetsed in getting the American and London gigs on DVD and would be willing to trade for them.Presumably there are people planning on making professional looking Live8 DVDs.What kind of projects are in the pipeline????Im gonna buy the official DVD when it comes out but im still want to get the 'bootleg' versions.

I DVD-R'd the whole (shitty) MTV coverage as well as the ABC highlights.

Too bad the MTV coverage couldn't have been worse.

Mindless MTV VJ: "Wow, listen to Pink Floyd, Jimmy Fallon, isn't this the best...oh wait, lets speak to these 3 young girls about how great this is, and..."

I'm recording all of the rebroadcast footage today on VH1/MTV...though I can't do it all up nice w/ menues, etc. It's a brand new DVD recorder, and I haven't figured it all out yet, so for now, I've just got it set to put generic tracks in every 5 minutes.

I posted this in the MTV re-broadcast thread but it's more relevant to this one..................

Each highlights program is an hour long and contains various footage from all the concerts. When I'm done recording the T in the Park festival highlights today and tomorrow I will sort through them and list what performances there are which aren't duplicates of the Hyde Park and Philadelphia footage :)

The two interviews were part of the BBC1 coverage of Philadelphia, presented by Graham Norton, which was shown after the conclusion of the Hyde Park concert. This was repeated in full the following night (without interviews) and consists of just the performances without adverts or delays while they rotated the stage etc  I removed the interviews from the Saturday night recording and deleted the rest as it is all in file 4

This is all the coverage that I believe has and will be broadcast by the BBC :)

All footage is 8Mbps PAL. Not DVB-S/T etc but captured from digital TV via analogue cables. The only fault is that the BBC switched coverage from BBC2 to BBC1 during UB40 - Red Red Wine but I may well have this in full in one of the highlights programmes.

Here are a couple of sample bitmaps from Hyde Park part 1...

My DVDs will be very similar quality to my recent U2 Uncovered capture

Can we start a vine or something for these because there is far too much for me to torrent or upload?

ps. I need to do these before I can finish the ZooTV compilation :hyper:

Ya im interested in getting a vine goin for this.Is it going to be 13 DVDs or are you going to edit all the footage to get the Hyde PArk and Philly gigs without the interviews or what are you planning on doing......

The Philadelphia recording contains no interviews, but I will add the two interview clips as bonuses.

The Hyde Park footage contained lots of backstage interviews and behind the scenes footage so I need to look at what is worth leaving in. I will have more time to look into this properly from Monday.

Even now you can see that the Philadelphia footage at 18Gb will not fit on anything less than 4 DVDs.

I will compile the highlights footage into meaningful playlists on additional DVDs but I can say now that I will be able to provide the Hyde Park, and Philadelphia concerts in full

The Edinburgh footage from Murrayfield stadium is not the whole show but they broadcast most of the good stuff with interviews

so youd prob be looking at around twelve discs for both the Hyde and philly gigs???I saw people were selling them on ebay, both concerts on 3/4 discs altogether????Is that due to a loss in quality???
