Where's the band?

Does anyone else find it odd that the official tour announcement did NOT involve the band at all. Isn't there usually a press conference or some event that the band attends to unveil the new tour. (i.e. Popmart annoucement in Kmart).

Maybe I missed something but all I have seen is a couple generic quotes from Paul McGuiness talking about the cheap prices of the GA tickets (obviously for scalpers only). No backing from the band?

Seems to be a different vibe this time around...very distant.

I want to know where the band is at this minute. I'm pissed off at u2, but I'm really more pissed at ticketmaster and fucking u2.com. I will delay my anger at the band until after a few days when I see their reaction this shit. If they say nothing, or one of those pitiful public statements through their PR people, I'll be even more upset than I am right now.
