A friend online has recorded the track using the lyrics (with some edits) - he is thinking about releasing it... Do you think you can put me into contact with the author ofthe lyrics so they can give permission or not.... also is there anyway of proving they actually wrote the lyrics?

I have asked Intellectual Tortoise to ask the author as another person is also recording the song. I'm waiting on the response. If you are a member of U2.com you can pm Intellectual Tortoise.
It is feeling a bit like the author wants to remain anonymous.
Intellectual Tortoise posted the song first on U2.com and has since posted more songs so I'm presuming he/she is genuine when stating the lyrics are from a friend.
