U2.com files petition to change name to U2.coN
With authorities in several different jurisdictions examining the tickiting practices of Dublin based rock band U2, frontman Bono announced that the groups official webpage was changing names from U2.com to U2.coN. A spokesperson from Interpol, indicated the name change would not effect the investigation into the charges of fraud and racketeering. "It is an obvious attempt to circumvent the authorities and we will do everything in our power to see justice prevail."
In other developes with what is now being called Ticketgate, an amateur video taper has sold video tape to the BBC of band member Edge leaving through a back door at TicketBastard (formerly know as Ticketmaster which also today announced their corporate name change). The tape which will air on the Wednesdays evening news is reputed to show damming evidence of the wildly popular guitarist leaving the TicketBastard offices with a bag of what appear to be concert tickets and making several stops at ticket broker agencies leaving each with a large bag of unmarked currency. Authorities have contacted BBC in attempts to review the unedited film in their ongoing criminal investigation.
