If U2 prices are anything to go by...not good. That's more expensive than Elevation tour, and I don't think REM uses elaborate techy tours like U2.

I'm actually quite relieved.
I don't think these are too unreasonable at all.
I think maybe the dollar situation may make them seem slightly expensive but in either Euro's or Sterling I think it's pretty cheap even more so when compared with what I have paid for the Rolling Stones or Madonna.

Hmm, wonder if it's because they're playing smaller venues (less tickets to sell)?

Berkeley does not have any large arenas. They're probably playing the Greek Theatre which is on the UC Berkeley campus and that place holds maybe 5K people?

ive been listening to 93.1 xrt chicago radio station...they mentioned the tour is all smaller venues and theatres first time in long time that they are touring like that, so theyre probably trying to make up for the fall off in attendance

Those are CHEAP tickets.....my sister saw Incubus and those were like $45 each....for Incubus.......Britney Spears charges well over $80 as my sister saw her....and it was about the same for nosebleed seats at a Backstreet Boys for her....these are reasonable prices for bands of the status of U2 and R.E.M....

Given that it's U2 (I mean really), those ticket prices are not so bad. Every ticket I've purchases for U2 has been between 30 (ZooTV) and 60 (PopMart). Elevation, I believe, was around 50 through the fanclub. Considering the quality of songs and level of entertainment, U2 is probably a bargain. I still love a good $5-$10 up and coming act or local band though.

i paid $75 for the last rem tour, and i was in the upper level of the palace of auburn hills, detroit. this tour, $75 a pop, and i have 11th row, 6th row, and 2nd row in 3 theaters. i couldn't be happier. the upper level seats were worth every penny...

god I'm willing to pay every last penny I have this time round as long as I get to go to a U2 concert! :hyper:

Want to see REM as well, this is going to be an expensive time ahead I feel.... :|

The average price of a ticket on the 1987 Joshua Tree tour was around 19 dollars

The average in 1992 on ZOO TV was 30 dollars

The average in 1997 on POP was 50 dollars

The average in 2001 on Elevation was 80 dollars

Prior to 1997, U2 tickets were sold at a single price. Starting with POP U2 started to use multiple ticket prices.

For the tour starting in 2005, expect for there to again be "cheap" tickets that will be in the 50 to 60 dollar range. All other tickets, which will be the majority of tickets, will be over 95 dollars in prices.

All of the prices above do not include the service charges which will increase price by at least 5 dollars. Utlimately, if U2 stick to Arena's in the USA, if you cannot get one of the few cheap tickets, expect to pay over a hundred dollars for your single ticket with service charge included.
