So are we doing the setlist party thread tonight again? What time does the show start, around 8? Also, do we have a inside source? I am gong to the Chicago show Monday May 9th and I would love to be a source for that show. I have unlimited nights so I can just call somebody and give them some updates or somethig like that...just let me know...I can't wait to see them...I'm sooooo excited. The only bad thing about it is I have 2 finals on wednesday and the show is Monday and it's a 6 hour drive to Chicago. Oh well, I don't care!

Hah, you guys beat me to it.

Though I'm not really in the party mood today, so I was too slow and couldn't really be bothered.

It'll be the same setlist. Have fun, folks.

Finding out the songs U2 plays any given night isn't the most fun part of setlist parties. It's getting to "talk" to other fans in this thread while the concert is going on thousands of miles away...sort of a cyber-concert! Even if the songs are the same, the sense of community makes it special.

You're right, but I'm just not enthused today. We'll see what happens ...

I was listening the HTDAAB again today. Since the tour started I've mostly been listening to the bootlegs.

It just seems a real shame that so much of the album isn't being played live yet.

Wouldn't Crumbs work so well in Pride's slot in the setlist!?!
"From the brightest star, comes the blackest hole!"

I guess we'll have to wait for Europe to hear Fast Cars.

Crumbs would be wonderful to hear live. That's just about the best song on the album.

On the deluxe set DVD, Larry admits that he's got to learn Crumbs all over again because the band was inebriated when they wrote it? Maybe they STILL haven't learned Crumbs?!

I can see the realm of disappointment - U2 haven't added any new songs in the past couple of nights, and over slightly longer, the only thing that's changed has been the order, and that's been fluctuating between basically 2 orders...

But, I'm still holding out a little hope. San Jose II last tour saw Kite and Stay make their debut. Plus, it's the second night of the city, so we hopefully will se something different.

On a slightly unrelated note, the drum outtro that Larry does on LAPOE reminds me of the drum intro he does to Mercy, which, me-would-like-to-thinks bodes well for if that wonderful song ever gets introduced live. LAPOE --> Mercy

i have a feeling that once we get comfortable...U2 will throw a curve ball

I hope so, but for some reason, my optimism has evaporated.

I think its unlikely they will play it live at all.
Although, Didnt they suposivley rehearse it?

I think the supposed Fast Cars rehearsal was from the fraudulent Mexico list.

That cureball may come in Chicago...after they've had the week and a bit off between Vancouver and Chicago....
They might do big work on OOTS and Crumbs....hopefully!

Axver's picks:

- LAPOE to open.
- Instead of The Ocean, U2 will play either An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart or Gloria. Most likely Gloria.
- WOWY may find its way into the set.
- No other changes.

U2 is the BEST band in the world...25 years after their first album, their most recent rocks, and unlike any other band in their position, they're not just phoning it in...after working my ass off, I think I've found a ticket to my 5th show of the tour (!!!!), and I'm so happy that I don't care if the freakin' setlist is the same for all 5 shows, I'll just be grateful to be there!!!

How's that for enthusiasm, and did any of it rub off? :)

My Guess:

Love And Peace Or Else
Vertigo / Stories
Elevation
The Cry
The Electric Co
An Cat Dubh
Into The Heart
City Of Blinding Lights
Beautiful Day
Miracle Drug
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
New Year's Day
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bullet The Blue Sky / With Usural Snipits
Running To Stand Still
Zoo Station
The Fly
Mysterious Ways

Encore:
Pride (In The Name Of Love)
Where The Streets Have No Name
One
All Because Of You
Yahweh
40

Axver, you're probably right. I just wish all of the hype about U2 practicing lots of songs and different setlists had turned out to be true. It isn't so far...

Remember when they started the Pop tour with 10 tracks off the new album PLUS Popmuzik, plus Daydream Believer and Holdme thrill me kiss me kill me???
7 tracks off the new album plus a Hands snippet seems a little disapointing by comparison.

VP, congrats on your almost-5th show ticket!!! PLEBA party in the house!!!

And yes, your enthusiasm IS contagious!!!

*who should be going to 6 shows, and maybe a 7th (Vegas, Baby, Vegas?!?!?)*

 Thanks!! :)

Am I recalling correctly that the 2nd Vegas show hasn't gone on sale yet? I heard that ppl had major trouble getting tickets for the 1st, and they're assuming that many were held back by hotels and casinos.

I'm going to 8 shows and the real fervor of it hasn't hit me yet....come may 17th...it will be a whole new feeling

The 2nd Vegas show is on sale on Saturday.

I'm just hoping the ETS packages don't all sell out before I get the money together to buy one with my best friend & lifelong U2 concert companion. She's in Idaho, I'm in NY...we'd meet out there.

Servo, my shows are in Sept and Dec...sweet anticipation. :)

this will be my first time getting to see the guys so with the pics and hearing the CA bootlegs...I still know nothing can prepare me for it.

Does anyone really think that BAD will be played again? I am going to my first live show in October, in Dallas; guess I have a long enough wait to find out.:sigh:
