RUMOR: U2 concert in Fall 2007?

File this under "RUMOR ONLY"

Read this article:

"Mysterious ways: U2 in 3-D concert film"

http://hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3iSvX2Mh9HIlJOpHjDRwrDbQ==?imw=Y

Note this sentence at the end:

"Real D... is planning a live 3-D concert presentation next fall, and sources said it might be a U2 concert."

And this:

http://www.eonline.com/news/article/index.jsp?uuid=2620b44a-e68d-4d44-9365-998191e2fa04

"A U2 rep tells Billboard that to coincide with the release, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are also considering a performance that would break ground technologically as "the first-ever 3-D multicamera live shoot."

Hmm....

Sounds like a possible one-off concert, rather than a tour.

Maybe they'll wait and see how the well the U2 South American 3-D film does first before deciding on a live 3-D broadcast.

If this happens, will they be showing it live in movie theatres around the world? How many theatres are equipped to show Real D films? Indoor or outdoor show? Where?

How much are tickets?

WARNING: This is a rumor only. If this had been an actual news item, you and those around you would be asked to remain calm and to monitor radio and television signals for further information.

:hmm: Bono said they would bring that movie to the Sarajevo film festival next year.

So Pellington is not directing alone, but with Catherine Owens?

Pretty much any theater with a digital projector cand work with Real D, but it seems not too many have booked the releases that have come out for it so far.

I think they mean a film of U2 live. Not actually broadcasting it live. Even if a new album came out next year (and I dont think it will), they most likely wouldnt be on tour until 2008 at the earliest.
