Monochrome video?

I didn't see this in the FAQ, and I'm curious...

At the Ottawa concert the video displayed on the big screens was (except for a few songs) sorta monocromatic

Um, was this for artistic effect, or for some other reason (I'm sure it wasn't technical).

It was the same in Tampa for the most part

some songs were in color
