The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

hey nurse crissi, i don't fancy that option....it's not very user-friendly, i mean i've never had a kateter in me yet, but since i study pharmacy and all, i believe it's not the most pleasant route of de-hydration or micturition....

maybe a PEG sack or something???

True, once you start drinking beer, you pee about twice as much as you drink after your first piss. Holding that pee back while drink beer is so crucial because once you start peeing you might as well set up shop in the can.

:p I'm gonna wear some Billy Connolly style, anti-incontinent trousers at the gigs incase of emergencies. When the pants start filling up like a huge water balloon, I'll just remove all the sharp items outta my pockets!

Too bad we didn't have that whole "pee to mark your territory" code that is accepted among dogs.
:lmao:
that might be the funniest thing I have ever read on an Interference thread...

Actually, territorial pissing might solve all these problems. You could avoid the bathroom lines, no one would invade your personal space and it would hold your spot while you get another beer!

Yes, but I have seen dogs pee over another dog's marking. Imagine getting your beer and coming back to a bitch pissing all over your spot!

alas... it appears as if i'm good to go as long as i pee before the show...

and it also looks like there will be no intake of alcoholic beverages until after the show, because once i start drinkin' i pee like every 5 minutes.

Me too. I have THE weakest bladder when I start drinking. Just thought that was good for you all to know.

How early for GA?

Alright, this is my first U2 concert and I'm totally pumped. I just had a quick question. I got 2 GA tickets for Atlanta and I was curious if anyone had suggestions on how early to get there so that I can be really close to the stage. I mean I'm willing to wait 5+hours to get as close as I can. I was just looking for all of you who have experience with getting really close and how long you had to wait.

I'm so happy I have tickets. This is probably the best day I've had in a long long time. However, I'm sure the day of the concert will surpass it.

If you're willing to wait 5 hours outside the arena, then get there 5 hours early, that's pretty much all I can say.

atlanta will be tough- for elevation there were people lined up at 6am, and then they totally screwed up and let people in that had just gotten there first. you can probably get inside the heart (or egg or whatever it is this time) with getting there about 10am- but there really is no way to say for sure. i got to charlotte at 9am, and was front row center against the main stage. i was not first in line, maybe 25-50th and i'm still not sure how i got to that spot.

in houston there were about 10 different entrances so it really didn't matter how early- it was really luck for the most part.

On the Elevation tour, some people preferred the tip of the heart as opposed to being in the heart or by the stage - hence you could be later in line and still get a great spot.

With this rumord oval/egg shape, it's difficult to say what will happen. That is, will the egg hold more people inside it? Will there be an equivalent to a "tip of the heart" outside that people will want? Where will Bono and, to a lesser degree, Edge stand for most of the show? All of this will play a role in determining how early you have to be there. Because if it turns out that the egg only holds 200 people, you might have to get there early. If it holds 400 people, you have extra time. If Bono spends a lot of time all over the egg-ramp, you might have a lot of spots outside the ramp to stand.

Therefore, I recommend waiting until you hear reports from the first few shows.

Also, as HelloAngel wrote, if you only have 5 hours to stand outside, then get there 5 hours before the show starts and hope for the best. :)

thats why it sucks that i have ga for the first show

where to stand?!?!

Yes, yes, yes. I had GA for Vegas Elevation and I was close to the tip. It was fantastic. Best U2 show I've ever been to for that reason. If it's the same setup this time around, I'd go for the tip rather than inside the heart or egg or whatever it is.

I think there might be a huge difference between the 1st leg shows and the 3rd leg ones. Don't forget that the Atlanta show is in late November... more casual fans are more reluctant to freeze their asses off. Still, it's Atlanta, and I have no idea how cold it gets at that time of year there.

During the Elevation Tour I saw U2 in Denver and sat up pretty high. I noticed that the stage had a few taped "marks" or "spots" for light cues and where Bono needed to stand during the song New York so the shadow would be projected properly. My brother and I went to a CHICAGO show and had GA seats. We went 4 hours early and were stopped at a stop light and noticed Bono and Edge in the car behind us... I jumped out at the next stop light and got their autographs! When we got on the floor, we went to where the taped mark was rather than the tip of the heart, and Bono spent a lot of time at the spot... most people wanted to be a the tip of the heart so it was relatively easy to locate ourselves and people were kind and there weren't any jerks... so it was an amazing experience. My advice, look for special effects and look for repeating "antics".... a lot of shows mirror themselves in this capacity.

I gotta question bout the GA. Say you get to the venue at 6 AM and you are #25 in line, for example. So do you have to wait on line all day to get in as #25, or you can go out of it when you get ur # and go get a bite to eat or w/e.

Noone will let you out of line. You are forbidden and you must starve and hold your pee for the rest of the night.... ;)

I'm kidding of course....If you wanted to get a bite to eat I really don't think people will care. Unless you went in line then left for the whole day and tried to get in again then I think there might be a problem. Errr...I hope that makes sense! :|

When I saw U2 in pIttsburgh on Elevation we got in line around 9:00 in the morning, and were around #100 in line... they did have portable toilets set up nearby for restroom use.... A few people did get pissy when people left for like 2 and a half hours to get something to eat across town and then tried to get back in line where they were before.... I'd recommend just buying a cheap cooler that you're allright with ditching at the show when it's time to go in, taking food with you, and making a day of it.

By some act of God, I landed GA's to a Boston show, and my friend got them to another Boston show. The "interesting" part is that we'll be lining up outside of the Fleet Center... in December. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

you know it varied from venue to venue last tour, and actually on the 3rd leg, people caught on and were lining up earlier and earlier. For example in Dallas on the first leg last tour we got to the venue around 1 pm and still were #70 or so in line, but in chicago on the 3rd leg we showed up at 5:30 a.m. and were around #160 in the freezing cold. I would suggest just to wait and see how some of the first few shows go. It's hard to tell when we don't really know the stage setup, etc. The most nerve wracking night is probably going to be opening night for all of us in San Diego.

I gotta question that i've been pondering on. For the GA ticketholders, once you get in line for GA, say you are #50, do you have to stay in line until the doors open to the venue, or can you leave or w/e and still be #50 to get in the building? Cuz I kno that people go to the arena 12 AM the night before, do they really stay in line for 18+ hours??
