Well this counts Franz Ferdinand out of the first part of the 3rd leg at least

Franz Announce Release Date, Fall US Tour Schedule
We've talked about the new Franz Ferdinand album quite a bit on this site, so you should know that their new album will, like their last release, be self-titled. You should also know that you will able to tell the two apart because the new one will be black, red and pale green instead of brown, orange and cream. Here's what you didn't know:

Domino Records will release Franz Ferdinand on October 4. Recorded in both rural Scotland and at NYC's Avatar Studios in NYC, the album was produced by both Franz Ferdinand and Rich Costey. The album's release will be preceded by the launch of a North American tour on September 20 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. The 17-date theater tour will stretch through October 18 in Toronto and will include a two-night stand at Seattle's Paramount Theatre. Seattle is the only city that will get Franz on back to back nights, so give them a pat on the back.

09.20.05 - Chicago, IL (Aragon Ballroom)
09.21.05 - Minneapolis, MN (Target Center)
09.22.05 - Kansas City, MO (Uptown Theatre)

I have a sinking feeling that The Kings of Leon will be back to sonically destroy the rest of America. :scream:

 Bite your tongue! My ears can't handle them again.

3rd Leg Opening Band???

What is the hold up? I know its been discussed before but as a U2 concert paying customer I would like to know who will opening up for them when they come back to the States.

Wake Up by Arcade Fire.

and as far as the opening band, i've been predicting Michael Bolton for months now.

*crosses fingers

Also,

What is the song they play before U2 come out?

Why are they playing Vertigo twice?

Will they ever play Crumbs?

Why don't they switch up the setlist more?

Why didn't my presale code work?

LOL, you guys are crazy. Bolton would rock the house.
Am hoping for the Killers though.

I wish someone would let me know the name of the song that's played right before U2 hits the stage, why has this topic never come up before

Why would a band with the back catalogue like U2 even consider playing the same song twice in one show? that's preposterous!

OK, OK ... I think I get that ... so what's the name of the song played before U2 come on stage?

Wait, JET is rumored to open the 3rd leg?

Dear God. Please tell me it isn't so. I'd rather see Justin Timberlake than that bullshit. There are only three worse possibilities: Hoobastank, CREED/Scott Stapp, or ...nope, just those two.

I'm still having nightmares about the Sugar Ray rumor I heard almost 4 months ago...

I'd feel better about it if I knew who was opening.

God, not Jet. Any of those bands from the European leg.

Killers would be awesome, them and Interpol would be my top two picks.

You forgot a few

Do you like the lottery? I don't, it sux, first come - first come is how it should be.

I swear Bono has backing tracks for most songs.

Ticket Brokers are the pond scum of the earth (until I need one)

Vertigo Tour is not as good as Elevation Tour.

OMG Bono is clearly using backing tracks all the time, he just lip-synchs the whole concert. In fact, last I heard the entire band fake plays to lots of backing tracks. OMG I hate U2.

whats the name of the song that comes on before U2?????
