I honestly would rather see LAPOE than Vertigo as the opener. LAPOE has to build out of something with a slow, brooding end (like Exit) or nothing.

As the song starts, house lights off, spot lights off, except for like some redish light that shows their figures, but no details.

When Bono starts to sing, spot lights of all band members go on, but not too bright, just giving them enough to be seen.

At 1:45, lights get brighter on stage.

When the chorus starts, the houselights go up.

I never thought of this as a tour opener, but now picturing this and hearing the song, I'd rather have this open than LAPOE.

Just me.

On my first listen to the full version, I had that exact thought! I think LAPOE would be the perfect opener, then straight into Vertigo...

I think that works nicely....nice powerfull opener, "slow down" into miracle drug, which is a LITTLE like BD.
After Bono & Edge have "The Fight" at the end of Until the end of the world, edge plays the first bit of ABOY.
Then we have to stop for breath for Sometimes.
