Do you think they'll play Ohio or Indiana?

On the 1st leg of the Elevation tour, there were 3 shows on the tour that crawled to sellout status, and didn't even sell seats behind the stage. Those were Lexington, Indianapolis, and Columbus. The latter two I attended. Due to this underwhelming response, what do you think U2 will do in my area for future schedules?

I prefer them to play Columbus, cause it's a 45 minute drive. But Cincinnati isn't far either, and as they say, CLEVELAND ROCKS! I'm planning on traveling to some shows, but I hope to have a show in Columbus, so that I can take all my "casual fan" friends to.

Columbus show

My brother heard that Columbus was planning on or in negotiations for a U2 show. This was part of an announcement about big acts coming to the Columbus area. I attended that show last tour as well and was hoping to hit there again because it was a little easier to get in to.

I think Columbus is a definite. This is a Clearchannel tour and lately they have favored the high price ticket acts going to Columbus over Cincy.

It's possible that they might play Cincinnati this time around because the US Bank Arena lifted their ban on "festival seating" (the ban that was caused by the deaths at the Who concert in 1980 when it was called Riverfront Colleseum). That would be great since i'm from Cincy!!!! but who knows. Columbus or Lexington would be nice...

On Elevation tour:
5-3-01 Cleveland, Ohio
5-7-01 Columbus, Ohio
5-10-01 Indianapolis, IN

Second Leg:
10-10-01 Notre Dame, Indiana

their coming your way

While the number of concerts on Elevation creates a positive implication, here's U2's past history in the two states.

Indiana - does not paint a positive picture
- 1982-03-14, Indianapolis (October Tour)
- 1987-11-01, Indianapolis (Joshua Tree Tour)

Ohio - paints a pretty positive picture
- 1981-04-17, Cincinnati (Boy Tour)
- 1981-04-19, Cleveland (Boy Tour)
- 1981-04-20, Cleveland (Boy Tour)
- 1981-12-08, Cleveland (October Tour)
- 1983-05-19, Cleveland (War Tour)
- 1984-12-09, Cleveland (Unforgettable Fire Tour)
- 1985-03-25, Cleveland (Unforgettable Fire Tour)
- 1987-10-06, Cleveland (Joshua Tree Tour)
- 1992-03-26, Cleveland (ZooTV)
- 1997-05-24, Columbus (Popmart)

My conclusion - U2 will almost certainly come to Ohio (it was only missed on Lovetown [as it did not come to the US] and Outside Broadcast) and probably play Cleveland, but it is very doubtful as to whether they will come to Indiana or not.

yep, Cleveland's a definate....Columbus is very likely too.

I went to the Lexington and Columbus shows last time.....hoping to fly down for Opening nite in Miami, then catch at least one or two more gigs around Cincinnati.

Look at it this way....if you don't mind driving 2-5 hours, you'll get to see them several times....I think it's more fun to take a long trip anyay :)

U2 should boycott Ohio to punish you for voting for Bush.

I didn't! I voted for Walter F. Brown of the Socialist Party. :p

Might try to go back and see my family when they play Cleveland...we'll see...
