Celebs at Shows

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I actually stood next to Noel Gallagher and his girlfriend in Manchester on the Saturday night of the Elevation Tour. He was actually a really nice guy and chatted to us quite a bit - we were surprised!! He was escorted into the Heart by Security a few minutes after the show started and was handed over pints of beer and glasses of wine constantly throughout the show!

i was reading an interview wit Noel Gallegher and he said he was in the heart during elevation...i presume he didn't have to que outside for 8 hours to get in. So do 'celebs' get instant access cos Noel in a que for 8 hours isn't something i can imagine!

I could care less if any of those clowns showed up to the shows I was attending as long as the real celebs of the evening are there U2 I could care less most of them are brainless twats anyway...but I guess they have some taste in music :)

Celebrities?!? In New Jersey?!?!? Hahahaha.

I had the aisle seat next to the enterance of the Popmart VIP booth at Giants Stadium in NJ. Cameron Diaz, Helena Christensen, Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, to name a few.

I just remembered last LA Staples Elevation show having Gwen Stefani and the bass drummer for NO Doubt in back of me. (she is beautiful but a lot of make-up I thought) I also seem to remember seing Naomi Campbell as well.

Jaysus... triple posts when the forum isn't working... :crack:

I wasn't THAT excited over seeing Tony Kanal...
So that's how you got your post count so high...

According to Season 3 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David went to one of the LA shows. That's what his maid said, at least....

(Sorry for the super-obscure reference. 10 points if anyone's seen it.)

Ha, yeah that was the one where Larry David had the pubic hair stuck in his throat. Funny episode.

Same for me -- No Doubt stood in the heart a couple rows behind me during the first part of U2's set in San Jose last tour.

Hmmm, I've been to 6 shows and the only celeb I've seen at a U2 show is the dude who played Elliot in E.T., I think his name is Henry Thomas.

Of course all my show have been in Texas.

At the Garden I saw Bill Flanagan, author of "U2 At the End of the World". He was bringing a family that had been sitting in the section next to mine to the "Guests Only" section. I was like ..take me!!!!
ps the best book ever on U2

At the 4/20 Elevation show in San Jose I ran into Jeff Ament (bassist for Pearl Jam) at a hotel. He was walking down the hall towards the elevator after the show and I called out to him. He turned around and we talked about how great the show was. He was a huge fan, as he had been to a few other shows as I found out. I should have offered to buy him a drink...maybe next time, eh?

What hotel? I have to get one for the 4/9 concert and want info on good places to stay.

I stood in front of Winona Ryder at the Elevation show in San Jose, and she was backstage with Billie Armstrong at Pop in San Francisco. Oh, and I saw Elvis Costello backstage at the Dublin shows.

Saw Peter Wolf (of J.Geils fame) at the soundboard for Providence2. Of course, it was halloween, so it could have been someone dressed like him.... ;-)

I have another one, actually two. At the Pond, Meg Ryan was with Melissa Ethridge, and I thought wtf, and they were having a great time to all the songs, you could tell they were big U2 fans...then I read they are very good friends and lived next door to each other.

At the Zoo show at Dodger Stadium, Jack Nicholson walked in right in front of us, then he danced in the aisles as well the whole time, and his "girls" who most likely at that time were Heidi's girls, he was also having a great time smoking something with a an odor and he had on a beret. He was so happy and he'd dance with anybody walking by or standing near him.

and I wanna know what hotel to go to get Jude Law to walk on my foot, please?

Salman Rushdie was in the heart at the San Diego show on the elevation tour, and got a reference during "Ground Beneath Her Feet"

The Olsen Twins were at a Staples show, which cracked me up. Also at that show was Danny Masterson who plays 'Hyde' on That '70s Show. Also I think Angelica Houston was there.

At Elevation LA 1 I saw Puff Daddy, Woody Harrelson, Tom Morello and Breckin Meyer and his wife. They were all in the VIP area near the sound board. People magazine said Charlize Theron and Stewart Townsend were there as well but had seats.

I thought of another one, Adam Sandler was at all the socali shows of Elevation. I don't care that much about any of them either, but they always come in late when the house lights go down and get in your way, so you can't help but notice them.
