did bono really do the backflip?

if so, is this a new direction for the band?

less songs, more gymnastics?

Why play new songs when you can include choreographed gymnastics in the set!

Bono did a summersault on the opening night of the elevation tour......

Bono also does, maybe even 2, in the WAR era Werchter(?) festival footage(japanese PPV?)

God i hate those songs...glad they dropped them:yes:

I was there in Miami along the rail for the Elevation opener...he was walking backwards on the ramp, halfway to the tip and just fell right off backwards...but after about 30secs he was up again on stage...

don't think that counts as gymnastics...

that's just falling.

I think at this point the band should basically do the following:

They should do a tour where all they play is the following setlist:

Where the streets have no name
Bullet the blue sky
Pride
One

They should charge $200 for every ticket. That's $50.00 a song.

I wonder how many people would go to this?

I feel like that is where we are going with this band.

I think I am losing my mind.

Good-bye.

it just makes all this complaining seem pointless. I guess I'm just not cynical enough .

WOW. That's AWESOME!! If only I were a girl! I wonder if he'd be even more impressed with a guy in a bellydancer outfit.. I bet there a lot more costumes from now on!

That really is great--I'm so happy for MrsEdge!

I read it, and I think that her experience is fabulous for her.

Unfortunately I do not go to the shows to see Bono dance with the women.

I go to see unique setlists, so I guess I get nothing of what I want.

(please read with sarcasm.)

I just think last night's show from a setlist perspective is weak.

Nice one Ellay..
further discussion -
if they are removing more than one song do the gymnastic moves have to be performed consecutively? what song sacrifices could be made to get a whole Bono Routine going?

U2 has to resource to acrobatic moves to keep people's attention, since everyone was already heading to the exits.

As I said earlier, this band is doomed.

Fair enough.

I just think a u2 show is more than a list of songs on a piece of paper.

Absolutely. While it would be great to hear all my favorite songs at a show, the setlist issue is really only a problem for people who see a hundred shows and people who are at their computer at home. When you go to a show, you enjoy it. I go to see U2 for the experience.
