Slow or Fast Finish?

Which would you prefer for the next leg of the tour?

A slow(40) or fast(Vertigo) finish?

Personally, o prefer gigs to end on a big high, so i'd go for fast.
Any thoughts?

I've seen several endings. I didn't like the 2nd Vertigo. It leaves the sensation of

'40' is a typical closer and it'll always work. The way they get out of the stage, the exchange of instruments, the crowd singing that verse in chorus, it's a different kind of magic.

Vertigo works as a closer, but then put All Because of You as the opener. Simple as that.
I'm a little tired of 40, but I believe Bad was the best closer of the tour.

Depends on the energy of the crowd, or the band.

Minneapolis, the crowd went wild, and Bono sensed it, so they did Vertigo again. No snippets though.

I think 40 works better with loud crowds, but I'd say more of foreign crowds.

I think the perfect ending for this 4th leg The First Time

Also I think Vertigo as opener is rather crap

pretty much as a stupid MTV showcase performance

City Of Blinding Lights as opener is far better and more artistic

I love Bad as a closer.

It would have been the closer when I saw them, but they came back on and performed All Because of You and Fast Cars.

They should open with COBL and close with Vertigo.

the problem is waiting for it to get dark, in some cities, when COBL was performed, it was still light out, which made the song suffer.

This is an interesting point. Maybe they could hand out CoeXisT blindfolds for all to wear.

I like fast endings, although I wish they would close with Vertigo without playing it earlier in the set. The Fly would be a cool closer too.

But I think Bad has been the best closer thus far.

I really enjoyed Vertigo 2 - it made me go home with a fuckin big smile on my face!!!!

But what about Streets as a closer?

Yeh, I know they used it to open yay back, but imagine a PopMart style version which starts up again and gets faster and faster before ending and fading out echoing into the night sky with the screens showing something evocative (not the That's All Folks).

I love the fast finish. You leave the area with the adrenaline pumping. On 5/10 I drove 6 hours home immediately after the show, took a shower, and went into work. No way I could have done that if the show closed on a slow note.

Bad seguing into 40 would be the perfect ending. When I saw U2 live, they ended after Bad and didn't get into 40 like I wanted.

I would love to see Pride as a closer, with everyone going "OOOH OOOH OOH OH, OOOH OOOH OH OH, OOOOH OOOH OOOH OH". That would be awesome.
