Regarding a few classic U2 songs and tours...

When was the last time One Tree Hill and A Sort of Homecoming were performed live? Not together in one show, but individually? Also, has Red Hill Mining Town ever been performed live?

One Tree Hill was last played full band in Rotterdam in 1990 (it has been snippeted a few times since, most recently in Oakland on the Vertigo tour). A Sort Of Homecoming was done at the first Slane show in 2001 (an impromptu acoustic version was done at Oakland 2001 also). Red Hill Mining Town has never been done at a show live. It was worked on in soundcheck in Tennessee in November 1987, but thats it. Bono said the chorus "wrecked" his voice.

The specific last date for One Tree Hill was 9 January 1990. It has been snippeted thrice since: 1 December 1993, Christchurch; 4 December 1993, Auckland; 8 November 2005, Oakland.

A Sort Of Homecoming was played twice on Elevation - 25 August 2001, Slane, and 16 November 2001, Oakland. Both performances were shambolic. Previously, it had been played last on 27 June 1987, Dublin.

The specific date of the RHMT soundcheck mentioned by Blue Room was 28 November 1987, Murfreesboro.

Just so you know, you could have found the answer to the ASOH/OTH questions on U2-Vertigo-Tour.com - this is the master list of all songs played (and the RHMT question is answered on the site too, but you'd have to know to go to the 1987-11-28 page, where it's listed in the Soundcheck category).

Also, just for the record, ASOH and OTH have never been played in the same show. I know you weren't asking, but someone else may've been curious.

couldn't they just rework Red Hill, or play it like 0569846094 steps down like they do with Pride and Sunday Bloody Sunday so Bono's voice can take it?

No, because RHMT isn't an overplayed casual fan hit.
