U2 was punk back in the day and back then bono's voice was certainly not what it is today, or even what it was during the war era and the JT era. everyone's voice evolves over time. especially for someone who sings the way bono does as much as he does. also add the surgery, the cigs, the alcohol, and the vasectomy and he still sings like an asskicking rock star!!!
