the true upcoming setlist

here's a probable setlist for the next tour. Trust me, I have an inside track that I cannot reveal.

1. Vertigo
2. Beautiful Day
3. New Years Day
4. Sometimes you cant make it..
5. Please
6. Sunday Bloody Sunday
7. The Fly
8. Bad
9. All I want is you
10. City of Blinding Lights
11. Mairacle Drug
12. Desire
13. With or Without you
14. All because of you
15. Where the streets have no name
16. Walk on
17. Original of the Species
18. Bullet the Blue Sky
19. Crumbs From your Table
20. One

Of course, on some nights there will be a few changes... There are five or six other songs being worked into the rotation.

Hm.

I rather hope this is a load of BS.

Didn't another poster claiming inside info say that Crumbs would be near the end?

If true, the pacing seems mighty funky. I wonder if the encore break would be before Streets, after Streets, or after Walk On. No Love & Peace? No Kite? Yet more Bullet? No Exit, Wire, Unforgettable Fire, I Will Follow, Out of Control, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock? No Pride? No Zooropa?

I do rather hope this is BS.

re:

it's not b.s.

I will follow and pride will most likely be in there too. And while the order of songs will be tweaked, the first three and the last three are set. Of course, it will be slightly altered from city to city. Besides that, this is the setlist. Enjoy.

Also, there are rumors going around that u2 are working on a cover version of Wham's "Wake me up before you go-go" for the tour. Which, needless to say, are COMPLETELY ludicrous.

While some of this is reasonable, some of it is quite obviously untrue.

1. No Out Of Control or I Will Follow. Both have been done on the promo tour, especially the latter. They're certainties for the tour.
2. The order is quite obviously incorrect. The Fly into Bad? And With Or Without You is in an odd spot.
3. I don't see a reasonable main set/encore 1/encore 2 split.
4. U2 have already ended with One. I don't think they'll repeat it as the closer.
5. Most devastating for the accuracy of this is the omission of Yahweh. They will definitely play that. Adam's said so! This point proves this potential setlist is not true.

I could probably find more faults if I kept looking.

Re: the true upcoming setlist

This setlist, if true, would make me feel a lot better about not getting tickets. I've already seen this show. The only difference being the new songs that I am not that crazy about, and Bono's voice probably being shot by the time he comes to NYC.

I'm surprised a setlist would even be floating around now as the band has not commenced full rehearsals yet - as per an article on Canada.com stating they would be in Vancouver rehearsing for a month. I would think a finalized more truthful setlist won't take shape until mid-March.

There's no way they will be playing both New Years Day and Sunday Bloody Sunday on a regular basis.

This is a load of shit.

And despite The Fly being so great on Elevation, it's likely they'll ressurrect a different AB track this time. No one else has pointed out that you only have 2 AB songs on here which ain't happening. They will also be playing more than 7 new songs on a regular basis. Yahweh is certainly getting played, as well as LPOE.

laz

Why do you think that Love and Peace or Else is certainly going to be played? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't play this at all.

big loader, Bono is knocking at your front door right now.

Trust me, I have an inside track that I cannot reveal.

I really believe that some guy with 5 posts has an "inside track".

The number of times bigloader has posted here has nothing to do with whether or not he is telling the truth. I wish people on this forum would stop talking down to newbies all the time. If bigloader actually does have inside info, we shouldn't shoot him down for trying to tell us about it.
Of course, he may be full of shit. But you never can tell sometimes. Everyone is so paranoid about people having inside information. When someone comes on here who actually has inside information, I don't want us to chase them out of here.
U2 has probably outlined plans for a setlist already. Although they are rehearsing in Vancouver in March, they are most likely already working through songs for the setlist and rehearsing as we speak. Vancouver will be the "dress rehearsal". Bigloader's "inside info" setlist doesn't seem too unrealistic. Axver is right in that there are some discrepancies to what U2 has stated in the past. But when has U2 ever held true to all of their statements? Personally, I can't see U2 doing Yahweh or LPOE. They just don't seem concert-worthy to me.

Bigloader: Can you elaborate on the details you have given us? Why are you so sure that the 3 openers and closers will stay the same?

I can't believe anyone is taking this guy seriously. Go and have a look at his five posts:

- A completely ridiculous U2 setlist that they will never play. It's one of the worst I've seen on this forum.
- Outlandish claims that U2 are covering Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go-go.
- A "who would win?" contest between Bono and Kid Rock that has nothing to do with setlists but was posted on this forum anyway.

This person's full of nonsense. Ignore them.

If its an inside source....I doubt U2 have a set ready for a show that is just under a month away...

If anything it might be a rehursal set....

and Love And Peace and Yahweh will be played.....U2 have always played songs off the first half of the album.
As For Yahweh, as Axver said, Adam said that they will play it.

and Until The End Of The World must be added to that list!

Setlist as put forth by "bigloader" is loaded with bull. Where's Electrical Storm? This song will most certainly be played. It's got the big, sing-a-long chorus U2 is famous for, fits well with the sound of HTDAAB, is mid to up-tempo, has never been played live before, and one's got to believe the band wants to explore this song and see it come alive.

I look for Electrical Storm to be played regularly...

Yahweh will be played, most likely to end the show. Similar to Walk On, Yahweh is an uplifting mid-tempo song that will leave the crowd in a reflective, spiritualistic state.

In fact, similar to the Zoo TV tour, I look for U2 to play 8 or 9 songs off of HTDAAB fairly regularly...I think it would be a great ploy to revisit the script for Zoo TV and actually OPEN THE SHOW WITH 6 OR 7 STRAIGHT SONGS OFF OF HTDAAB. This isn't a greatest hits tour, after all. Like others have said, if the setlist as floated by "bigloader" is anywhere's close to accurate, haven't we seen this tour before???

Here's to having the boys resist the temptation to appease the "pop" fans who want to hear WOWOY etc for the 50th time in hopes they come out swinging in support of HTDAAB with a heavy dose of the current album and older, less obvious classics like Two Hearts Beat As One, Electric Co, The Unforgettable Fire, Running To Stand Still, Exit, In God's Country, and Zoo Station to name only a few.

RE:

It doesn't matter what any of you think. This is the likely setlist. You guys can analyze all you want, but as of right now this is what they are planning, plus of course, a few surprises that will be thrown in from show to show... I'm not at liberty to say anything about this, though. You can question my credibility all that you want, but it doesn't matter because none of you even know who I am. Plus, the loadblowing post was put up to add some humor to the forum... Lighten up. As far as the wham cover goes, wait until the tour, then try to criticize me. Bono is a very lighthearted guy and they are looking to add some unusual flare and fun to the tour.

Sorry, you've been called out, just like Dalkey Beach and fake Edge.

Try harder next time.

I don't care if Dalkey Beach was fake. It was so much fun assuming that he was real. This place sure was buzzing because of him/her.

Bullshit. No Acrobat?! Come on that's a live fave...! *crickets*

Anyway...Dalkey Beach? Enlighten me, I musn't have been here.

Dalkey Beach just happened to be the coolest dude/chick around. A few months before the album came out, interference was buzzing with possible track listings and release dates. We didn't know anything. We didn't know when the album was going to be released or what kind of songs to expect from it. We were receiving reports but they were very vague. All of the sudden, Dalkey Beach shows up on the scene. His posts were very interesting. He sounded like someone who was definitely "close" to the band. He would give vague answers that would somehow lead you to believe that he wasn't aloud to tell more because of album secrecy reasons. Eventually, people started asking about his apparent connection to the band. Again, Dalkey would give vague answers that left you begging for more. Dalkey even hinted that he was a band member. He gave specific details about the album that eventually turned out to be false.
At the time, Dalkey had his critics and believers. I have to admit, I was a believer. Maybe I'm just too trusting. Some local interference hackers tracked his ip address to Chicago (i'm not sure that is hacking but I was impressed) even though he claimed to be from Ireland. What caused a few to believe that he was telling the truth is that "Dalkey Beach" is actually a geographical beach situated close to where the Edge lives.

This incident left a lot of people frustrated and angry with the imposter. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the whole experience. It was my first moments here on interference and got me me hooked on this site. As for others, I'm sure it might have caused a few to leave.

As far as the "fake Edge" story goes, I don't want to get into that because that actually made me a little mad. It ties into Dalkey Beach story a little but there are definitely people that don't want to have story resurrected again.

1. Vertigo - logical
2. Beautiful Day - logical
3. New Years Day - makes some sense

Slow the show down a bit - though it seems early - maybe another song before #4?

4. Sometimes you cant make it..
5. Please

Pick up the pace again

6. Sunday Bloody Sunday - and NYD? Maybe but seems like a stretch.

7. The Fly
8. Bad
9. All I want is you
10. City of Blinding Lights
11. Mairacle Drug

GO TO B-Stage
12. Desire - Acoustic
13. With or Without you - Piano or Acoustic -- some very different new version?

An addtional acoustic song here before #14

14. All because of you
15. Where the streets have no name
Ends Main Set

Encore #1

16. Walk on
17. Original of the Species
18. Bullet the Blue Sky

Encore #2
19. Crumbs From your Table
20. One
Yahew

HMMM.... newbie, awful bigloading post -- suspect Wham song post -- then this setlist.

Having read other posts, especailly about chasing "insiders" away, I tweaked it a bit, and thought twice.

Add a few songs in, toss in a new closer, 21 total songs.

Is it possible?

Heck, anything is, I guess.

The bigloading post was still awful though.

This is clearly fake, since they will definitely be playing Mercy on the tour.

don't you think referring to your imagination as your "inside source" is borderline psychotic?

no. i think i took the a grateful dead style concert and applied it to u2,lol thats exactley what a u2 show would like if they were like the dead. i know i saw the dead, once, and i;ve stuided thier live history.
