I'm glad LMP included Stuck. People, you can almost guarantee it'll be in the set, given its subject matter and thus its connection to Australia.

I think they won't open with COBL, I think they'll either try something different or Vertigo..

I disagree. I think they'll stick with what they were doing in South America; it will be dark enough to open with COBL.

Now, if it were going to be light like it was in Europe, then I'd be predicting Vertigo.
 
Why in Japan? That's a long way from Burma.

And before anyone says "but Japan's in Asia", would a 'special' performance of Spanish Eyes in Poland make any sense just because it's on the same continent as Spain?

It's the closest gigs that U2 will play since they wrote Walk On.

If they played the song(snippet form)on her 60th when they played in the UK last summer, I'd say they would play the full song at Saitama.

I do sincerely hope that we see more ATYCLB songs on the remaining dates...
maybe the fact that elevation didnt come to australia will influence the set a bit?
maybe we see songs like walk on, kite or in a little while instead of miss sarajevo or new years day ?

I really don't see the connection you're making. They snippeted Walk On last year because, like you say, it was her birthday. Natural snippet to do.

But Japan has nothing really to do with Burma, the concerts aren't even close to Aung San Suu Kyi's birthday, and I don't see any grounds whatsoever to claim it's definite for Japan. You might as well claim that Adelaide will get Crumbs From Your Table because it's the closest U2 will be to South Africa since they wrote it.

I only think Walk On will be played in Japan if it turns up in Australia - which I actually think is a possibility, as the band have expressed a wish to play ATYCLB songs (damn!!) given the Elevation Tour didn't come down here. I think Beautiful Day, Elevation, and Stuck will be played at every gig and Walk On will show up on second nights. In A Little While will hopefully remain dead.

There were several shows in Europe when they stared to play it was already dark...

WO was played in in snippet form and in full throughout the later part of the 2005 tour.

I agree that only 4 songs from ATYCLB are likely for the final 10 shows, with priority given to BD/Elevation/Stuck.

I do think that is is slightly more likely that WO will turn up in Japan moreso than the other dates. Partly because of the Asian connection and partly because there is 3 shows - they may get more ambitious setlistwise after the first couple shows. The ASSK story would have more resonance to that audience than Hawaii or NZ. Japan is also as close to Burma that u2 has played or most of it's bandmembers have ever visited.

Another thing to take into consideration is nobody knows if Bono has anything planned for the off days surrounding Japan.

I really like this idea of an old song in at No 4 between Elevation and Until the End of the World.

Elec Co. is a great choice and they could even rotate it with I Will Follow and Out of Control. I think someone should mention this to Bono if they get the chance!!

I was thinking Miracle Drug might return kinda as a tribute to Edge's daughter.
