Why I cannot "EDIT" my own posts ?

Why I cannot "EDIT" my own posts ?

I do not see an edit option (or button) so I can fix my previous posts .

Edit option is available for one hour only after initial post.

For a second, I read this thread title, and I remembered a long forgotten poster.
