What's my time limit on editing posts?

I notice that I can go back and do a couple of edits without the footnote showing up. If I wait a certain time, the footnote is there, and if I wait too long, I can't edit.

The first time I tried to edit, it had been about a day, and when I tried to fix it, it said something about having a limit of 30 minutes, after that required a moderator approval (or something to that effect).
