posting image sizes

i was wondering how big should my pics be for here and viewing at my photobucket album? my stepmom asks me to resize them because they are too big and take too long to load on dialup? i just want to preserve the image quality but i don't know what size to use because everybody uses different resolutions and internet speeds..

heres an example of a pic i have... should i just go 75% or 50% of them?

I'd do no bigger than 800 x 600.
