Can't access last page

It's about the same sex marriage thread in FYM. I can open EVERY page, except for the last one (37). It won't load, or give me a database error. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? What causes it?

No, it's not just you. Some post on that page is causing a database error.

For those who have the setting of 10 or 15 posts/page, it is working again (the final page that is, not page 37 or 55). Those with the setting of 30 posts/page, we'll have to wait a bit longer...

when pages load, all images that are in the [ IMG ]http:// [ /IMG ] brackets load

i (we) think the image that BoMac put there, just would not load, ever, it just crashed the page.

Most likely it looked fine on Bomac's page because it was loading from BoMac's memory

sometimes I post an image and it loads from my comps memory (not the link)
so it looks good. Then when I open on another device, the image does not load. This time it just stalled on the linking page

that's what I think happened. It really is not BoMac's fault, it could happened to any of us, unless BoMac was post illegal porn or something

Having the same problem tonight with the U2 Tattoo thread. I did a test post to see if I could see that and nope. It shows me that I was the last to post there. Even though I can't open it.

This is the 4th time this has happened to a thread that I know of, counting the one you guys are talking about above. The other ones happened a few months ago.

My settings are at 15 posts per page. I'm not sure exactly what that means according to the above discussion... does it mean if people keep posting it will eventually work again?

^ yep, eventually people will be able to access the next page when there's enough posts, but the current page for whatever the faulty post is will never be able to be accessed.

the only thing i can figure is possibly this can be happening if people are hotlinking (posting an image from an external site). some sites have codes in place to prevent people from doing this because if it gets posted on a busy enough site, it can suck away your bandwidth. most will just have the picture not work or be replaced by a decently sized photo that says "no hotlinking" or whatever. but some jerks replace it with a monstrosity that can crash browsers, like an invisible gif that measures 12000x1 pixel. perhaps that's what's happening and it crashes the forum's server.

i tried disabling images once and loading a page but i guess the images still try to load (which is stupid) because it didn't work, and i think it was trying to access sites where the images (even the okay ones) were located.

but anyway, if anyone has an idea as to what post it is that's causing the thread to not work, i can remove the post. not an ideal fix but it will at least mean the entire thread can be accessed.

I tried making a test post last in the tattoo thread. Mine didn't contain any images. There was a new post to the thread before that, but I don't remember the poster's name, I only saw it pop up on my subscription page. You might try that second to last post right before my last one.

hmm, it's weird. i went through the posting history of everyone who's posted in the thread and only one person has posted in there this year. i thought it was that post, so i isolated it. but when i did, the post (made a new thread for it) loaded fine but the last page still wouldn't load. so it's got to be something older. i don't know when the last post before that was though so i'm not sure which post it is.

Well that thread has not come up on my subscription list in a long time, until the one post just did late last night (my time!), so I thought the problem must have been with that one post before my last one. I suppose like you said though, it could be because the owner of a previously posted/hotlinked photo might have changed their photo to something causing the problem and we never knew about it until the thread became active again, which means yeah it would be tough to find.
Would it not be one of the photos on the page that we can't open though? Or could it be anywhere in the thread?

it should be something on the last page since that's the one that won't open, yeah. i wish there was a way to look at the list of who posted and filter it by when they last posted, not just by number of posts. then i could just try the last ten or so one-by-one until i found the culprit.

Would it make sense then to just make a bunch of posts in that thread to get us off of that page? It would be different for how everyone has their pages set though right?
