Man, this is exactly what I keep telling people with Norton problems...

Now that I upgrade my Norton every year, I'm a pro! :D

When I click for Internet Security Options on Norton, I don't have the tab for "Web Content" - only General, Live Update, Firewall, and Email... I also tried going to Tools, Internet options, and added http://forum.interference.com to my trusted sites, but pics still not consistently coming up.

I have Norton Internet Security 2004/ Norton Antivirus 2004. No other security software that I know of. This has only been a problem in the last 2 days since I installed the latest Norton.

There is a green checkmark at the bottom right hand side of the screen and next to it says 'trusted sites' but still, pics don't consistently show up.

If a page doesn't show pics, and I go to a new page, and then hit the back button, then the pics will show up on the original page...

Ok, I figured how to get to the options listed in the original link, and now the pics are showing - this is if you have Norton Internet Security 2004:

1. Click on the Norton Internet Security icon (mine is a little blue and green globe).
2. Click on 'Ad Blocking' (about 2/3 of the way down on the pop-up).
3. On the right side of the pop-up, click the yellow 'configure' box
4. A new pop-up that says 'Ad blocking' at the top shows up. Towards the bottom on the left, click the gray 'advanced' button to configure ad blocking for individual web sites.
5. Now the 'web contents options' gray tab screen will pop up.
6. Continue on at Step 2 at http://www.interference.com/noimages

Finally!

Elvis, your original description at http://www.interference.com/noimages/ should work for anyone with Norton 2003, but there is this slight difference with the 2004 version.

Wow! Great that you figured it out... and thanks for providing the info for others as well.

I'm really opposed to a lot of the 'internet security' programs like that... they really don't achieve anything/protect you from anything.

Argh! None of these steps are working for me. I have norton Anti-virus 2003 and it was just installed yesterday cos I got a new computer and it's driving me nuts cos I can't see any icons or anything! Stupid thing! LOL can anybody help?

Elvis,
I'm on a network here, at work and do not have administative access to change anything. However, this just started happening in the last couple of days. I'm not able to see my sig. Is it showing and I'm not able to see it for some reason. I can see the sig of everyone else, just not mine. Why would this just start?

sue, it could be that boomspeed is down. That's the server that is hosting your signature.

When I tried to access your sig image directly...
I got the following error from boomspeed:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /kittylove/ on this server.

Apache/1.3.29 Server at www.boomspeed.com Port 80

I'm kittylove. There is a thread about this in PLEBAns I posted when I found out my account was down because I knew I hosted several people's sigs and avatars. How embarrassing  The images will return on their own later this week if you leave the link in place :reject:

Sorry

If you've tried all the Norton procedures along with some good natured cursing and less good natured computer kicking, go into the main control panel of your pc. Go to Internet Options. Open 'Security'. Add this forum under 'Trusted sites'. If this still doesn't work, go back into 'Security' and adjust your level settings (medium is fine for most home pcs, if you have yours set to one of the higher settings this might be the problem).

I've tried all those things, but I still can't see smilies and avatars. (I can see most of the pics that are posted by users)

What about AVG or ZoneAlert? I use those and until about a week ago, I could see all images...I tried adding Interference.com as a trusted site, still no change.

BTW, I can see everything at work where I have MacAfee, but nothing at home.

Help.
