African Well Fund Observes World AIDS Day With Virtual Candlelight Vigil
Schenectady NY – In observance of World AIDS day on Dec. 1, the African Well Fund is hosting a virtual candlelight vigil at our site. Please visit us at www.africanwellfund.org/candle.html to light a candle for those who have suffered from AIDS.
While the AWF’s mission is to provide access to clean water, we recognize the link between the need for safe water and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Persons with AIDS suffer from weakened immune systems, which makes them more at risk for contracting water-borne diseases and infections. Easy access to clean water is essential to those stricken with this terrible disease.
The African Well Fund would like to join the many and varied organizations throughout the world who are commemorating World AIDS day on Dec. 1st. World AIDS Day celebrates the progress made against the epidemic as well as focusing on the challenges that remain, and of course, honoring our fallen brothers and sisters.
Please consider making a donation to the African Well Fund to commemorate World AIDS day. Your donation can help give the gift of clean water to those battling AIDS. The African Well Fund, www.africanwellfund.org is a registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2002. AWF believes that access to safe consumable water is not merely a basic human need but a basic human right. Donations to the African Well Fund are used by our partner Africare for their clean water projects in Africa. Africare is one of the leading private, non -profit charitable U.S. organizations assisting Africa. For more information please visit www.africare.org.
