DEATH DISCO TO HIT TORONTO!

Former U2 DJ BP Fallon brings his rock n’ roll party from London & NYC to Club 279 on Friday, November 5th as part of the inTO the Heart U2 Fan Fest

TORONTO, Canada, October 29, 2004 – inTO the Heart is thrilled to partner with former U2 DJ and all-round rock creature B.P. Fallon who will premiere his signature DEATH DISCO rock n’ roll party in Toronto after great success in London and New York City. Join us in Toronto for inTO the Heart November 4-7, 2004 an international, non-profit U2 festival by the fans for the fans with the vibe on entertainment, fun and partying among those with a shared passion for U2’s music. Proceeds from ITH 04 will go to Amnesty International and local Toronto AIDS Hospice, Casey House.

Fallon - celebrated DJ on tours by U2 and Rolling Stones Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood - has recently started Death Disco in New York, a city fiercely difficult to conquer. And in London at the weekly Death Disco there, fans who have shook it up on the dance floor include Jack and Meg of The White Stripes, Stella McCartney and Primal Scream. “I couldn't be more pleased" said BP. "DD is rockin in New York and people love it. What do we do? We play music that makes people want to dance. It isn't brain surgery, just rockin' tunes, and the name of the game is to feel good and have fun. We have no velvet ropes, no VIP area, none of that silliness – everyone who comes is treated the same, which is the joy of it." For Death Disco Toronto, BP will be joined by one of New York's hottest DJs, Justine d, who organizes and DJs at Manhattan's magnificently mad monthly party Motherfucker. So do you have to be fabulously cool to go to DD? "Absolutely not!" exclaims BP. "One of our slogans is 'If you're cool, don't come". "We don't care who you are", points out BP. "If you want to rock, you're welcome".

Before joining U2 as Guru, Viber and DJ to tour the world with them on their incredible Zoo TV tour - which appeared twice in Toronto - Irishman Fallon worked at The Beatles' Apple Records - where one of his jobs was testing Paul McCartney's grass - before becoming publicist to Led Zeppelin, T-Rex and Bob Geldof and manager to the post-New York Dolls Johnny Thunders. "But it's not like I suddenly became a DJ" BP points out. "I guess I kinda got sidetracked with people like The Fabs and Zeppelin and Marc Bolan, which is fair enough. But I've been DJing all my life". Indeed, BP Fallon' first job, while still at school in Dublin in 1964, was hosting his own radio show on Ireland's national radio station RTE. "Toronto audiences were great on the U2 tour - I'm genuinely looking forward to DJing there again".
