Bono and Hawkins Fight Over Band Aid Lyric

U2 frontman BONO and DARKNESS rocker JUSTIN HAWKINS are fighting for the right to sing the lyric 'Tonight, Thank God it's them instead of you' in the star-studded re-release of DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?

Former ULTRAVOX star MIDGE URE co-wrote the ballad for 1984's legendary charity gig BAND AID, to raise money for African famine victims, and he fears Hawkins' high-pitched voice would ruin Bono's original line in this year's (04) all-star group BAND AID III, rather than the THING CALLED LOVE hunk.

Ure explains, "Bono turned that line into his and I think it would be really difficult to replace him. The Darkness wanted to do it, but I don't think it would work with Justin's falsetto voice."

Thanks sue4u2!

Keep it up, Bono - we support you!

No one could re-create Bono's solo in this song.

And after all the humanitarian work that Bono has done for the poorest people on earth, he deserves the right to be part of the new Band Aid.

I think Mr. Hawkins is a bit too full of himself.

THE GOAL IS SOUL....;)
